Job Description
As our first Senior Technical Writer you will be the architect of our internal knowledge ecosystem. You will spearhead the transformation of our fragmented content repository into a centralized userfriendly knowledge center. Your expertise will be crucial in bridging the gap between technical documentation and operational understanding ensuring that all information is clear consistent and accessible to a diverse audience including engineers ML researchers and all operations teams. This is a demanding role that requires strong leadership and crossfunctional work and as our first Senior Technical Writer you will drive the creation of a streamlined knowledge sharing environment empowering our teams across all BUs and reducing reliance on direct engineering support.
You will:
- Lead restructuring and organization of our internal knowledge base. Design and implement a comprehensive information architecture ensuring intuitive navigation and discoverability.
- Content maintenance. Regularly review and update documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance and implement feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Establish and enforce writing style guides templates and best practices for all technical documentation.
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders (engineering ML research and all operations teams) to gather synthesize and translate complex technical information into clear actionable documentation.
Ideally youd have:
- Strong technical background (bachelors degree in Technical Communication Computer Science or a related field)
- 5 years of experience in technical writing preferably in a technology or software development environment.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing information architecture for largescale knowledge repositories (e.g. Confluence Google Workspace).
- Strong understanding of technical documentation principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
- Entrepreneurial experience and mindset you are excited about building things from scratch and are highly adaptable to constant change.
Compensation packages at Scale for eligible roles include base salary equity and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position determined by work location and additional factors including jobrelated skills experience interview performance and relevant education or training. Scale employees in eligible roles are also granted equity based compensation subject to Board of Director approval.
