Job Description

Required Education: High School diploma or GED AND:

  • 18 months of experience with instrumentation in a research or laboratory setting engineering or electronics.

Skills:

  • Ability to use DVOM
  • General working knowledge of electronics test equipment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Excel and Word)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner
  • Must be detailoriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Ability to multitask be organized and selfmotivated
  • Ability to work in stressful situations
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
  • Experience with basic electrical systems electric power tools and hand tools
  • Read and understand complex written materials such as blueprints metrics or technical manuals

Departmental Preferences:

  • Previous experience as a chamber technician or working in a lab performing RF measurements.
  • Class B CDL drivers license
  • Associates degree in electronics or electrical engineering or 12 months of experience working with RF chamber or electronic equipment in a lab environment.

Certifications:

  • Valid Drivers License

Required Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
  • Ability to communicate including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others;
  • Ability to use a computer daily.

Training:

  • Equipment specific training will be provided

The Advanced Radar Research Center seeks to expand its support staff by adding a Chamber Coordinator. The ARRCs expenditure over a 10year period grew over $10M and the engineering staff grew from 5 to 20 fulltime engineers. This person is vital to assist existing support staff engineers and faculty in taking measurements with new antenna designs maintaining hard grant deadlines and keeping students on track for their degree programs. Additionally this position will assist in maintaining key microfab lab equipment whose use has grown considerably to produce protype PCB designs for various projects. The addition of this person follows the growth curve of the ARRC and is necessary to meet immediate existing commitments.
