Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently hasan opening for a Machining IV position located in the Corinth MS facility. This position will involve complex high variation precision machining operations. Will also require a high level of operator interface and knowledge.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work in a fastpaced safety and quality focused team environment
  • Operator should have attention to detail and be selfmotivated
  • Operator will perform precision milling boring and drilling operations
  • Requires a high level of operator knowledge and interaction to
    • Calibrate machine probes tooling
    • Gage and verify parts
    • Monitor process performance and adjust programming and tooling as necessary
    • Utilize CMM results to verify machine and gage results
    • Troubleshoot issues to keep the process running optimally
  • Machining 4 positions may require use of gages programming overhead hoists and other tooling as defined by standard work
  • May require use of vibratory pneumatic tools: impact guns wrenches needle guns handheld grinders die grinders and buffers etc.
  • Operators will be required to select and adjust programming perform OPM (operator performed maintenance) quality checks calibrate tooling and troubleshooting.
  • May include some wire arc spray operations as needed
  • Quality checks may be required per standard work
  • Candidate will be required to interpret blueprints
  • May require loading and unloading parts
  • May require utilizing overhead cranes and/or electric pallet jack to move parts in and out of area
  • May require operation of CNC controls/programs
  • May require checking incoming material and entering data
  • Cross training in other positions within salary grade 6 may be required based upon basic qualifications and physical requirements being met.
    • Examples of positions within salary grade 6 include: Machining 1 2 3 Disassembly 1 2 Cleaning 1 2 3 4 Assembly 1 2 3 4 Logistics 1 2 3 and Quality 1 2 3
  • Utilize various computer systems including email on a regular basis
  • Candidate will work in an environment without close supervision

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic computer experience (ability to read standard work documents and enter data)
  • Required to read/write and interpret documents
  • Previous experience reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Experience with basic tooling (hand tools air tools pneumatic tools etc.)
  • Knowledge of engines and components
  • Previous experiences with gages
  • Previous machining experience
  • Previous CNC experience such as Mazak HAAS FANUC Robots etc.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Experience writing or editing Gcode programming
  • GD&T training
  • Offline programing experience
  • 2year technical degree/certificate in Tool & Die Advanced Manufacturing or machine shop related field
  • Metric system experience
  • Axis machining center experience.
  • Experience reading CMM reports to understand current state of part geometry and how each result is impacted by the machining center and tools utilized for each operation.
  • Experience with Siemens Fanuc Milltronic CNC controllers.
  • Previous experience with either the U5 HMC or RMC is highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

  • Job may be physically demanding at times and must be able to handle high volume fastpaced operations
  • May work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
  • May walk squat and bend for intervals of 1530 minutes
  • Must be able to wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • May require respirator physical and training
  • May be required to lift/push/pull heavy parts up to 30 lbs. multiple times per shift
  • Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours per shift
  • Must have a flexible schedule


Job Bid Eligibility Requirements:

  • Any current agency workers applying to this position must have worked the required 60 days to be considered as well as meeting all requirements for the position.

Compensation & Benefits Offered!

Starting hourly pay rate of $24.00 (pay negotiations based on skills/experience)

This position is 2nd shift with an additional 7% night shift premium

Work Hours: 2PM 10PM; Monday Friday

40hour work weeks with potential for overtime

80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)

10 Paid holidays

Summary Pay Range:

$24.00 $31.20
