Job Description

Sales & Events Manager

The Sales & Events Manager plays a vital part in the success of our friendly boutique hotel. The Sales & Events Manager is the public face of the hotel to the community and corporate partnerships as well as groups and events. As such this position must embody reflect and multiply our five core values in all interactions: generosity adventure community trust and courage.

The Sales & Events Manager acts as a proactive budget driven salesperson that prospects for new business closes deals and builds and maintains relationships. The primary function of the Sales Manager is to perform outbound sales convert inbound leads and detail group and catering bookings. A deep connection with the Hotel and Food & Beverage operations team as well as an intimate understanding of the property are critical to success.

This position is part of the Leadership Team reporting directly to the GM and will regularly collaborate with the revenue management team marketing team AGM Executive Chef and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets for both group rooms and catering events.
  • Serve as the point of contact for group and catering clients by executing contracts coordinating group room blocks and planning and detailing events.
  • Communicate operational requirements of clients to internal operations teams in a timely accurate and comprehensive manner.
  • Assist with the creation and development of sales materials and resources to support strategic initiatives.
  • Identify new business opportunities and markets to increase occupancy and revenue.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to adapt sales strategies accordingly.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients travel agents corporate accounts and local businesses.
  • Foster strong relationships with local community organizations and tourism boards to promote the property.
  • Represent the property at industry events trade shows and networking functions.
  • Be onsite for key events to maintain relationships.

Operational Oversight:

  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless guest experiences and high standards of service.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with the leadership team to develop effective promotional materials and campaigns.

Budget & Financial Management:

  • Ensure timely collection of all client payments in accordance with established deposit and billing schedules.
  • Prepare and manage the sales budget ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Monitor expenses and implement costeffective measures to maximize profitability.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance reports to senior management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Direct Sales: Targets resultsoriented high revenue potential group sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program in accordance with goals established by department budget and marketing plan.
  • Key Account Management: Maximizes current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth.
  • New Account Development: Captures market and competitors accounts through networking and research in order to target and solicit those most probable to generate new business.
  • Acquires referrals from existing accounts: Follows up on all leads within 48 hours of receipt in an effort to create new business for the hotel and when appropriate sends leads to other IMPRINT hotels.
  • Plans and implements an ongoing Targeted Account Development hit list in order to create new revenue and acquire valuable hotel contacts and contracts.
  • Yield Management: Utilizes yield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitments in order to enhance the hotels financial performance.
  • Account Service and Management: Maintains welldocumented accurate organized and uptodate file management system in order to serve clients and property in an expedient organized and knowledgeable manner.
  • Develops strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional courteous and ethical interpersonal interaction.
  • Fully leverages sales and planning software solutions to develop customer profiles and maintain an effective trace system including trace dates and references in order to best meet client needs resulting in superior account service and increased revenues.
  • Promptly followsup on all client needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner. Communicates all client needs to the hotel teams.
  • Product Knowledge: Conducts research surveys personal investigation and studies marketplace and territory in order to effectively capitalize on the hotels strengths and competitors weaknesses and capabilities.
  • Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintains open communications with all coworkers for the best overall performance of the hotel.
  • Displays a neat clean and businesslike appearance at all times.
  • Assists as necessary with special projects
  • Reports any unsafe conditions to leadership

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assists other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
  • Provides training to new property level support as needed.

You have:

  • Minimum two years proven experience in hospitality/catering sales. Threeplus years experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of general sales marketing and social media processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of cloud solutions and devices
  • Ability to use computers email property management systems and event management systems
  • Manual dexterity and problemsolving skills
  • Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
