Were looking for a

Corporate Accountant

Based in our London office and reporting to the Finance Director UK Corporate this role will be responsible for supporting the global corporate accounting function with a specific focus on IT cost accounting and reporting.

Hamilton Global Specialty is our multiplatform specialty insurer operating primarily through a Lloyds Syndicate and Dublin operating company with a managing general agency in the US.


What you will do


  • Responsible for cost accounting / reporting for the technology department and the various projects / initiatives ongoing globally within the organisation
  • Monthly oversight of the fixed assets registers including project capitalisation rates additions depreciation / amortisation entries reconciliations
  • Management of monthly prepayment adjustments to costs
  • Liaise with project managers / accounts payable team to ensure costs are being recorded appropriately including ensuring costs are being recorded in line with group capitalisation and depreciation policies
  • Support other monthly close routines tax accounting/reporting management/external reporting and reconciliations on Hamilton service companies
  • Support SOX control compliance for the Corporate Finance team
  • Support the Head of Global Expense Planning when partnering IT management / project governance; this includes cost forecasting/planning and isolating key trends and analysing variances
  • Complete monthly reporting commentary and presentations for management and committees especially in relation to IT costs
  • Other ad hoc projects as required including for the Head of Global Expense Planning and IT management


      What you require for the role

      • Experience of project/fixed asset accounting (ideally IT) and balance sheet reconciliations
      • Proficient user of accounting ledgers (SUN desirable)
      • Strong user of Excel / Word / PowerPoint
      • Accounting qualification
      • A numeric degree desirable but not essential
      • Cost recharge experience desirable but not essential
