Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

Great Oaks Legacy Charter School is seeking an experienced Director of Data & Analysis to join our team for the 202526 school year.

The Director of Data and Analysis will serve as the School Information System (SIS) administrator for the organization. This position will be responsible for the production organization and analysis of the many types of data required to support our students achievement oversee the delivery of critical SIS imperatives and ensure effective systems both centrally and across campuses for data management and reporting.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Director of Data and Analysis reports directly to the Managing Director of Technology & Data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

School Information System Management:

  • Serve as the organizationwide administrator of the Student Information System (SIS) PowerSchool ensuring effective consistent use schoolwide.
  • Manage setup extraction analysis and interpretation of all teacherfacing and studentfacing data including oversight and reporting structures and professional development as needed.
  • Oversee administration of SIS at all schools and actively monitor functionality to ensure the platform is optimally and effectively used by central office and campus leadership; implement proper data hygiene systems and routines.
  • Make improvements to the SIS system and related protocols as necessary.
  • While not necessarily responsible for routine data entry ensure data entered by staff is accurate complete and consistent across systems through the development of protocols training and ongoing monitoring.
  • Oversee school scheduling processes on PowerSchool and transcript support.
  • Support Academic Operations systems and processes including policies and infrastructure related to gradebooks GPA tracking course scheduling report cards and graduation progress monitoring.

Internal Assessment Systems:

  • Support the data demands and implementation of internallymanaged assessments including Achievement Network iReady SRI/SMI AP and Illuminatebased internal assessments.
  • Support the GOLCS internal NJSLA district testing coordinator with state assessmentrelated activities.
  • Ensure curriculum and assessment practices are clearly communicated understood and used to inform instruction across all schools.

Management Reporting:

  • Produce management reports for presentation to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Compile weekly and monthly dashboards for presentation by the Executive Director to our Board of Trustees.
  • Generate and distribute weekly and monthly performance analysis reporting for GOLCS campuses departments and functions and the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to the effective monitoring of organizational performance in coordination with the Chief Strategy Officer.
  • Support the facilitation and completion of accurate and timely data report requests as determined by the Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer.

Support and Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot datarelated issues and provide timely solutions to support operational and educational priorities.
  • Serve as a technical lead for data migration transformation and reporting projects.
  • Wear multiple hats as a part of a lean startup team supporting the work of others on the team and taking on new projects and tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Belief that all students have what it takes to be successful to and through college.
  • Bachelor degree required graduate degree preferred.
  • Has 5 years previous experience in a datadriven role particularly in an education or nonprofit setting
  • Able to manipulate large quantities of data with accuracy and strong detailorientation.
  • Ability to present complex concepts clearly and concisely to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office suite and schoolsbased technology requirements.
  • Highly skilled with Tableau.
  • Working knowledge of DeansList and iReady systems strongly preferred.
  • PowerSchool administration experience of at least 5 years required.
  • Familiarity with local and state data platforms preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills;
  • Strong customer service approach and communication skills;
  • Passion for the mission of closing the achievement gap;
  • A strong desire to take initiative pursue additional projects be creative and propose new solutions;
  • Demonstrated ability to be selfdirected and lead as well as to work collaboratively
  • Quick and effective learner in a fastpaced dynamic entrepreneurial environment that proactively seeks feedback to improve
  • Strong organizational/time management skills and demonstrated ability to multitask set and drive priorities against urgent deadlines monitor progress towards goals and utilize data and information

  • High sense of urgency; demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently
