About Chelsea Public Schools:

The Chelsea Public Schools (CPS) is a gateway school system that welcomes and educates all students and families. The school system educates over 6200 students in 11 schools including a preK1st grade school 4 elementary schools 3 middle schools a virtual school and 2 high is a culturally responsive school district. More information about CPS can be found on our website at consistent classroom observations and provide feedback to support teacher growth and instructional alignment with MAFrameworks and High Quality Instructional Materials in all classroom spaces including substantially separate settings and other nontraditional spaces.

  • Record coaching services to support ongoing conversations with leaders around instructional trends
  • Engage in coaching cycles which will vary in length but could include but not limited to: coplanning observation and feedback coteaching modeling and pre/postreflection meetings to improve instructional practice.
  • Create and lead professional development sessions at both the school and district levels. This includes: Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) Faculty Meetings District Early Release and Professional Development Days
  • Assist in unit and lesson level planning with a focus on meeting diverse needs of students including ML students and students with disabilities.
  • Align coaching practices with the districts Strategic Plan and the schoolbased Accelerated Improvement Plan (AIP).
  • Curate and share technical materials aligned with best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Support systemic equity and high expectations for all students by disrupting institutional biases and inequitable practices

    Other Duties:

    Qualifications Required:

    1. Experienced (3 years) and DESE licensed teacher in relevant content who has demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills.
    2. A Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
    3. Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in grade and subject area appropriate for the assignment;
    4. Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers
    5. Ability to work with diverse population;
    6. Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks curriculum instruction and assessment;
    7. Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention helpful
    8. Citizenship residency or work visa required

    Terms:

    All teachers are members of the Chelsea Teachers Union (CTU). The length of the school day is 6.5 hours but subject to longer hours for schools with extended day. The number of school days are 184 days.For salary information please see CPS website.
