This position which must be held by a Registered Nurse (RN) serves as the clinical and operational lead for the Gateway Medical Sobering Center with direct accountability for the oversight and performance management of all clinical and support personnel including Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and recovery staff. The RN is responsible for ensuring the safe clinical intake of individuals arriving via EMS and other referring parties maintaining proper oversight and adherence to evidencebased practices throughout the sobering process. This leadership role encompasses fullspectrum personnel managementrecruitment onboarding competency development coaching and performance evaluationwhile ensuring alignment with program strategic objectives and regulatory mandates at the federal state and county levels as applicable. In partnership with the Horizon leadership team and the programs Medical Director the RN drives clinical excellence promotes operational efficiency and safeguards the integrity of care delivery systems positioning the center as a model for lowbarrier traumainformed sobering services. This is a highimpact supervisory role requiring strong clinical judgment and leadership acumen.

Responsibilities: People Management
Write and update job descriptions to ensure work is relevant and appropriate job expectations are established.
Recruit interview and hire direct service positions in coordination with direct supervisor
Coordinate and maintain all direct service staff schedules with support and collaboration from leadership to ensure minimum facility coverage and minimize overtime hours
Daily review of time cards correct missed punches and approved time off requests as appropriate
Provide new hire orientation and training for all direct service staff.
Provide ongoing performance feedback from recognition to disciplinary actions to direct service staff deliver quarterly reviews set goals & expectations and professional development processes with input from Supervisor
Interpret consistently apply and ensure compliance with the companys employee handbook
Oversee process for answering phones and provide reception coverage to furnish information/referrals to clients and potential clients
Identify team training needs and conduct/coordinate skills development training.
Provide schedule coverage for all direct service staff duties and responsibilities as needed
Provide oncall consultation and support for direct service staff during nonregular work hours
Client Care
Management of medication storage and dispensing operations; including oversight of ongoing maintenance inspection training for staff documentation and inventory management
Implements Medical Soberings operational workflow through team leadership of employee base including:
Screening Collecting proper screening information including vital signs to determine ones eligibility in the program
Intake & Assessment Reviewing drug / alcohol use severity conducting brief health assessments
Stabilization Conducting rigorous monitoring by leveraging patient monitoring technology
Withdrawal Risk Management Linking to the designated prescriber to begin withdrawal risk mitigation through the provision of Medication Assisted Treatment (MATs) as appropriate
Discharge Linking case manager team members into the treatment process to ensure clients are connected to the broader system of care and/or other supports
Review and establish procedures to ensure quality care for clients consistent with applicable regulatory standards and program policies and assist in improvement of services as needed
Provide crisis support intervention and deescalation of conflict as needed while also providing training for staff on deescalation best practices
Monitor client services from intake to discharge and ensure program orientation is provided for all new clients within required time frame
Develop knowledge of community resources related to health mental health financial support case management and housing;
Assess prioritize and plan case management referrals and facilitate connecting to offsite resources and care. Assist clients in accessing outside services as needed/assigned
Prepare statistical and narrative reports to demonstrate results of sobering stabilization and impact of services.
Safety & Security of Staff and Clients
Oversees proper deployment and utilization of patient monitoring technology
Provide periodic inspection of grounds and facility to assure security and safety
Monitor clients to ensure appropriate supervision and knowledge of clients and activities
Facilitate conflict resolution meetings with staff and clients as needed
Punctuality and attendance to perform duties as scheduled
Comply and enforce polices and procedures
Enforce/reinforce policies and procedures of the programs and assist in creation of updated policies and procedures
Participate in regular staff meetings clinical supervision and trainings
Receive acknowledge and address client complaints in a timely manner as needed
Ensure adequate documentation of services by direct service staff perform random audit of files in partnership with the programs Compliance Manager
Maintain a working knowledge of recovery and evidencebased practices as well as contract requirements

New Mexico Registered Nurse (RN)
3 years of experience working in an outpatient clinical setting residential treatment facility community mental health facility and/or drug/alcohol treatment facility
2 years of experience supervising managing and evaluating staff in a residential treatment facility community mental health facility and/or drug/alcohol treatment facility
2 years of experience training staff on variety of skills including (but not limited to) verbal deescalation group milieu management/therapy
2 years of experience engaging clients in groupbased activities and providing positive programming for clients
2 years of experience providing crisis intervention services in mental health treatment and drug and alcohol treatment facility
3 years of experience working with diverse populations including people with disabilities
1 years of experience managing budgetary needs and expenses
Required: CPR/First Aid certification
Valid New Mexico drivers license with a good driving record and car insurance
