Job Description

Overview

A fulltime grant funded community coordinator will be hired to coordinate the expansion of pipeline programs for students interested in and competitive for health professions programs. The goals of the grant are as follows:

  • Goal 1: Increase the pipeline of students who are interested in and competitive for health professions programs;
  • Goal 2: Increase the acceptance of students into health professions programs;
  • Goal 3: Increase the number of students who enter and are successful in the health professions programs at TUC;
  • Goal 4: Increase the number of students who graduate from health professions programs and enter primary care residency or practice.

Working alongside the Project Director and CoDirector of the TUC HCOP Academy the Community Coordinator will act as liaison between students of the HCOP Academy and Solano County high schools Kaiser Hospital Solano County Health Clinics and between CSUStockton San Joaquin County high schools St. Josephs Hospital and other partners as needed

Responsibilities

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:are those work assignments which are predominantregular and recurring.

  • Manage the daytoday operations of the project including onboarding trainees coordinating the training schedules instructor onboarding communication and coordinating with partners faculty and mentors as well as fiscal grants management;
  • Reach out to students in the programs to ensure that information is shared on the next stages of the TUC HCOP Academy that community resources are shared and that students are supported throughout the process;
  • Provide logistics support for the TUC HCOP Academy Steering Committee and TUC HCOP Academy programs working primarily on working primarily on Goals #1 (High School and Undergraduate Summer programs) and 4 (Ambassador High School and Undergraduate programs);
  • Work with the Project Directors to schedule and interface with external partners to ensure the curriculum is developed and delivered;
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Program Coordinator and provide data on a regular basis to the data coordinator to ensure that all outcomes are achieved documented and disseminated;
  • Partner with the Program Coordinator on partner recruitment and coordinating and scheduling community engagement opportunities;
  • Schedule training and instructors and support data collection for state federal and RCHC programs reporting;
  • Work with the data coordinator to develop the HRSA report preparation and support;
  • Work with the leadership team on the development of MOUs and Articulation Agreements for the implementation of new partnerships as assigned;
  • Develops and manages marketing for the HCOP grant;
  • Ensures compliance with financial and reporting requirements for the HCOP grant;
  • Exercise independent judgment by developing and coordinating external relationships with community partners.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES(if applicable):should reflect who the employee is supervising and what the expectations are.

Supervisory responsibilities include hiring and managing four student facilitators per year who assist with Summer Careers in Healthcare academic program. Duties include developing job descriptions for student facilitators interviewing and hiring facilitators assigning weekly tasks overseeing quality of work conducted ensuring timecards are correctly submitted and ensuring compliance with research requirements. Additional responsibilities include overseeing Touro University California HCOP Ambassadors HP students from College of Medicine College of Pharmacy and Physician Assistant Program and HCOP Ambassadors from local high schools and colleges/universities. Duties include developing monthly mentoring schedules for mentors and Ambassadors monitoring compliance with attendance of mentors and Ambassadors monitoring completion of activities managing team conflict developing and overseeing shadowing experiences for Ambassadors monitoring and overseeing community outreach projects and ensuring compliance with research requirements.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION(S):is the Education Training and/or related experience needed by the person to perform the job.

Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration related field or equivalent

education and experience preferred.

Master of Public Health preferred.

Preferred experience in program/project management evaluation of grantfunded programs and fiscal management.

Desire and passion to work with youth.

Ability to develop relationships and work effectively with government and community partners.

USD $77000.00/Yr.

USD $73000.00/Yr.
