Job Description
The Capital One Privacy Compliance team is seeking a Compliance Privacy Senior Director with a passion for pragmatic privacy management at a dynamic data driven techfocused finance institution. The Compliance Privacy Senior Director will join our Privacy Compliance organization and lead a team that oversees compliance with applicable federal and state Privacy laws and regulations for our Enterprise Services Division. The Compliance Privacy Senior Director also leads our Privacy Governance function overseeing all aspects of well managed including Audit interaction Policies Standards and Procedures privacy training data breach notification response and privacy processes. In addition the Compliance Privacy Senior Director provides strategic support and counsel to the Senior Compliance Officer for Privacy. The Compliance Privacy Senior Director is responsible for delivering quality results and providing sound compliance and privacy risk advice to business lines as a subject matter expert.

Responsibilities include:
Analyze business initiatives including new products and processes to determine whether they comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations
Exercise sound judgment to effectively assess and balance risk in the provision of compliance advice to the business
Maintain expert knowledge of applicable laws and regulations keeping up with and advising the business on current developments
Regularly interact with business partners both 1:1 and in group settings to influence processes procedures and controls
Assess the impact and advise on remediation of breakdowns or findings including consumer complaints
Actively engage with others within the department including other subject matter experts and transaction testing team members
Identify trends in compliance data and proactively advise on identified internal and external risks
Ensure team fulfills on expectations and deliverables under the compliance management program
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or military experience
At least 8 years of privacy compliance legal audit or risk management experience
At least 4 years of experience in people management
Preferred Qualifications:
Juris Doctor or Masters degree
10 years of privacy compliance risk management risk management legal or audit experience at a financial institution
5 years of experience in strategic consulting and strategic initiative management
3 years of people management experience
Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) Certified Risk Professional (CRP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)

The minimum and maximum fulltime annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean VA: $234000 $267100 for Sr. Director ComplianceCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
