The Regional Vice President oversees all regional community operations and is
responsible for achieving regional financial and operational results. The RVP is
responsible for leading employees and managing the operations of the assigned portfolio in various phases of development construction and leaseup. Act as leading regional representative with other regional internal NRP staff members agency representatives and vendors.
Position Summary
- Oversee regional community operations
- Regularly meet with regional staff to set direction and priorities
- Complete annual performance reviews and regularly communicate employee performance expectations and achievement
- Seek to build employees teams and provide motivation and direction as required
- Manage all regional staff wage salary and commission issues; approve community staffing wage and commission issues; work with Vice President on development of employee incentive programs
- Coordinate Regional Operations with HR IT Accounting and other NRP functions
- Report and manage Regional legal fair housing and insurance issues as directed
- Monitor Regional financial results; ensure budget targets on income and expenses are achieved; report on results; review with staff; develop and present strategies to improve financial results; approve expenditures as appropriate
- Manage annual budget preparation process within Region; ensure regional portfolios meet asset plan expectations
- Ensure all management fees compliance fees etc. are at appropriate level and are being collected throughout Region
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all Regional reporting
- Ensure all approved NRP practices procedures policies and programs are being effectively executed throughout the Region; propose and develop new procedures practices and initiatives with the approval of VP
- Ensure all NRP training programs are being executed throughout the Region effectively
- Ensure all communities are being operated to NRP standards of appearance operations and employee representation
- Manage the new employee recruitment process as necessary; approve all new community hires
- Ensure Supportive Services programs are being operated in accordance with existing agreements and NRP standards
- Ensure all Regional portfolio documentation is up to date accurate and effectively managed
- Ensure all required Marketing and leasing procedures and initiatives are executed throughout Region
- Act as senior liaison to State Agencies PHAs nonprofit partners and syndicators for Regional Operations and reporting as directed by the VP
- Coordinate NRP Departments during operational setup of new communities; initiate cross functional Kickoff Meetings as necessary; act as Regional Coordinator with Development and Construction on new projects
- Direct Regional staff such as Regional Managers; Work closely with Compliance Department to ensure Compliance standards are met
- Review Annual Community Inspections produced by Regional Managers and ensure follow up actions are taken
- Represent the Region (and NRP Management) as necessary in meetings and interactions with other NRP Departments
- Work with Regional Construction and Development Teams to improve Regional operations solve community or portfolio issues and recommend improvements
- Review design and functionality of new development projects with developers and Construction Project Managers; communicate and coordinate with VP
- Maintain Critical Path Planner and monitor all aspects of new PreLease communities
Qualifications
Educational & Skill Requirements
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- 10 years of experience in multifamily LIHTC property management
- 5 years in a regional management role overseeing a minimum of 4000 units
- Strong financial acumen
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Detail oriented yet thinks strategically
- Politically savvy and can work through organizational hierarchy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Presents a polished professional image
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel Word Outlook
