Job Description

Position Summary:

As the Assistant Director of Housekeeping at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the consistent delivery of luxury standards across guest rooms public areas and laundry operations. Supporting the Director of Housekeeping you will oversee daily operations lead a diverse team and ensure that our service is delivered with excellence care and efficiency. Youll be a handson leader and role model guiding the department to exceed guest expectations while meeting operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Support the Director of Housekeeping in leading all areas of the department including Guest Rooms Public Areas Laundry Uniforms and Housekeeping Office.
    • Supervise and mentor housekeeping managers and supervisors to foster a collaborative and empowered work culture.
    • Participate in recruitment training scheduling and performance management of colleagues.
    • Promote a safe inclusive and supportive environment in alignment with Accors Heartist culture.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversee daily operations to ensure luxury standards of cleanliness and service are consistently met.
    • Conduct inspections of guest rooms and public areas; ensure timely communication with Front Office and Engineering for room readiness.
    • Monitor room status VIP arrivals and special requests ensuring flawless service delivery.
    • Assist in managing inventory linen control and department supplies to meet cost goals without compromising quality.
  • Guest Experience & Service Recovery
    • Support service recovery and guest followup demonstrating empathy and professionalism in resolving issues.
    • Collaborate with Guest Experience and Front Office teams to personalize stays and anticipate guest needs.
    • Help manage guest feedback and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Compliance & Sustainability
    • Champion safety and hygiene protocols in accordance with Fairmont local and regulatory standards.
    • Support departmental sustainability efforts by promoting ecofriendly practices and reducing waste.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines internal audits and cleanliness standards.
  • Financial & Administrative Support
    • Assist with labor forecasting budget tracking and payroll management.
    • Help evaluate vendor performance and contribute to cost management through effective procurement and usage control.

Participate in planning and executing departmental goals and projects aligned with hotel strategies.


Qualifications :

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have current work authorization for employment in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in housekeeping preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills attention to detail and ability to drive operational excellence
  • Outstanding interpersonal leadership and people management skills; ability to motivate inspire and develop highperforming teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and foster an inclusive collaborative work environment
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent in English both verbal and written
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities with grace efficiency and professionalism
  • Experience with property management systems and housekeeping software (Opera HotSOS or similar).
  • High level of professionalism discretion and guest service focus.

 

Physical Aspects of the Role:

  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to navigate tight or restricted service areas.
