Overview
Security Officer I
Parttime or Fulltime
Nights Thursday Saturday
Location: Dubuque IA
Responsible for providing security screening services that seek to create a safe and secure environment for the hospital community. The Security Officer undertakes activities designed to identify deter abate or correct situations; both routine and emergent that are within the scope of responsibility for the department as they occur on hospital owned or controlled property.

Responsibilities
Physical Environment of Care
- Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire theft vandalism and intruders.
- Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises.
- Confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.
- Screen visitors patients and team members at entrances.
- Report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations.
Departmental Support
- Complete incident report on any significant security incident or concern relays safety related information as appropriate.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

Not required to perform the essential functions of the position.
Education:
High School diploma or highest level of postsecondary education.
Associate or Bachelors degree in criminal justice law enforcement
Experience:
Military law enforcement and/or security experience is highly preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for workrelated reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to deescalate violent aggressive or disruptive persons. Use of critical thinking in a high stress environment. Excellent observation skills.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
