Job Description
Durango School District 9R is accepting applications for Licensed School Psychologist for the2025/2026 school year. Must hold a valid Colorado Department of Education School Psychologist Licenseby the start date of the position. BeginsAugust 1 2025.

Typical Work Year: 193 Days Calendar to be set with supervisor
SUMMARY: The mental health professional will assess and provide intervention to ensure student success and promote an exemplary education program fostering achievement for all students. Develops and promotes good relations among the school community: parents staff administration and other community members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Perform cognitive social emotional behavioral and academic assessments to maximize student achievement and success.
- Assess and provide intervention services to students who exhibit special needs and monitor progress.
- Involvement in the IEP process and meetings as needed.
- Provide schoolbased multitiered counseling as well as social emotional and behavioral intervention services to individuals groups and parents; including ongoing direct services to students with developmental and emotional disabilities.
- Work with building administration to identify yearly specific goals and priorities for services.
- Engage in individual and schoolwide safety implementation; including crisis response prevention assessment and intervention for students atrisk of harm to self or others.
- Differentiate instruction based on the needs of the students by supporting programs designed to increase student achievement.
- Support and actively participate in a Professional Learning Community
- Work with teachers teaching assistants and other mental health and special education personnel to provide intervention and consultation regarding the needs of students.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community agencies/resources.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and building/district professional activities. Adhere to the professional ethical standards and guidelines developed by the National Association of School Psychology and/or the American Psychological Association.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Masters Degree in psychology
EXPERIENCE: Experience as a school psychologist preferred.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS: Valid drivers license required. Hold a valid Colorado School Psychologist License.

- Knowledge of developmental emotional and behavioral disabilities
- Experience in data collection and data analysis
- Ability to develop and provide training related to serving students with exceptional needs
- Nonviolentand physical intervention techniques
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education and District Policies Superintendents policies and building/department procedures.
