    Specialist Teacher
    Art Music/Choral PE Library World Language
    These are possible classes to be taught. The Specialist Teacher can give feedback on how his/her talents may be of best use for the students.
    School Year

    Compensation
    $19.00 $20.00 per hour
    Each specialist class will be 12 days per week 7.25 hours per day.
    7:45 am to 3:30 pm Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday

    Regular hours begin August 27 2025 and end on June 12 2026.

    There are unpaid breaks around Thanksgiving Christmas and Easter.

    Salary: Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.

    Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits.

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • As a Catholic school Gospel values such as prayer and a belief in a loving God are essential to how our school operates. It is not a requirement for this position to be Catholic however in order for our school to thrive everyone needs to have an understanding of and a willingness to embody all that it means to be part of a Catholic community.

    • Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred but not required.

    • Teacher Certification preferred however this is not a requirement and individuals who are in progress toward a Masters in Education/Teaching or Teacher Certification classes are welcome to apply.

    • Alignment of professional duties and responsibilities to the belief that every student can learn the skills and dispositions necessary to have an opportunity to attend college.

    • Inspire a spirit of welcome and service with everyone who encounters the school.

    • Ensure respectful and appropriate communication of school policies with all community members.

    • Maintain professional communication both verbally and in writing.

    • Comfortable use of the internet and digital tools.

    • Enjoy learning new things.

    • Serve as a positive and contributing community member.

    • Ability to perform the job responsibilities of this position.

    • Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children.

    • Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities.

    • Be able to kneel bend squat lift push pull and carry children up to 50 lbs.

    • Bilingual preferred Spanish or Vietnamese are the languages that would be most responsive to our community.

    The Specialist Teachers job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Collaborate with the school staff in planning implementing and evaluating the schools goals and objectives with a specific focus on faith formation and ensuring learning for all students.

    • Participate in regional and Archdiocesan Catholic school initiatives.

    • Maintain and complete attendance for each class.

    • Establish and maintain a learning environment in which students thrive guided by Gospel values high expectations for all students and a belief that all students can and will learn.

    • Implement responsive instructional strategies including ongoing formative assessment culturally responsive pedagogy and adjusting lesson plans and instruction in order to meet the needs of the students.

    • Align classroom curriculum and instruction to schoolwide systems initiatives and goals.

    • Ensure confidentiality in accordance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

    • Respond to requests for parent communication within 48 hours.

    • Implement research based instructional strategies in order to ensure learning for all students.

    • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technology as it pertains to enhancing student learning and communication among the school staff and families.

    • Participate in professional development opportunities that bolster both individual goals and schoolwide goals.

    • Be punctual have consistent work attendance start and end classes on time.

    • Display professional behavior at all times

    • Participate in the schools PLC and attend professional development days.

    • Submission of weekly lesson plans to the Principal.

    • Maintain a routine process of monitoring student progress and communicate that progress to parents/guardians.

    • Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Family Handbook Faculty Handbook and Staff Handbook.

    • Serve this school in the position and in the specific duties assigned by the Principal. Established policies rules and regulations expressed by the school and the Principal shall be part of the professional procedure together with the applicable rules and regulations of the Washington State Department of Education the Archdiocese of Seattle applicable Canon Law and the local School Commission.
