Resolution Lead Officer People
Directorate: Children & Young People or Adults and Health
Grade: PO2 Location: Newham Hybrid Working Available

pro rata 4 days a week

Contract type: 12 months fixed term or secondment
Closing date: 1/6/25

Were looking for a skilled and committed Resolution Lead Officer to join our Children & Young People or Adults and Health directorate someone whos passionate about resolving complaints effectively and using them as a tool to drive service excellence.

In this critical role you wont just respond to statutory complaints and Member enquiries youll play a key part in ensuring our responses are consistently highquality residentfocused and aligned with our values. Working closely with the Corporate Complaints Resolution Team supporting the organisation to learn from feedback improve performance and reduce repeat complaints.

You will:

  • Thorough fair investigations into statutory complaints under the Children Act 1989 and Adult Social Care regulations.
  • Ensure all responses meet corporate QA standards: clear empathetic evidence based and timely.
  • Identify service trends and root causes through complaint insights and contribute to action planning that improves outcomes for residents.
  • Work with teams across the council to embed a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning from complaints and enquiries.
  • Support performance monitoring and help develop directoratelevel improvements that align with our wider Resident Experience goals.

Were looking for someone with:

  • Strong knowledge of complaints legislation including Children Act 1989 and Adult Social Care complaints procedures.
  • Proven experience investigating complaints including complex or escalated cases (e.g. Ombudsman).
  • A commitment to quality with the ability to assure challenge and improve the standard of written and verbal responses across teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills capable of engaging staff at all levels and keeping residents at the centre of everything.
  • A proactive solutionsfocused approach with a genuine interest in improving services through feedback.
