SCOPE OF WORK: To educate students in pediatric nursing medical surgical nursing and related fields and to provide leadership in the development and implementation of departmental and institutional activities that advance the mission of the college. This position reports to the Department Head of Nursing at NHTI Concords Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Instructor Level
Education: Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment. Possession of a Masters degree in Education shall require twelve (12) graduate credits in a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment and a Bachelors degree in a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment.
Experience: Two (2) years of teaching experience in the field of pediatric nursing and/or medical surgical nursing in a health care facility or two (2) years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of medical surgical nursing and/or pediatric nursing in a health care facility
Assistant Professor Level
Education: Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment. Possession of a Masters degree in Education shall require twelve (12) graduate credits in a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment and a Bachelors degree in a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment.
Experience: Three (3) years of teaching experience in the field of pediatric nursing and/or medical surgical nursing in a health care facility or three (3) years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of medical surgical nursing and/or pediatric nursing in a health care facility
Associate Professor Level
Education: Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment. Possession of a Masters degree in Education shall require twelve (12) graduate credits in a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment and a Bachelors degree in a subject area closely related to the teaching assignment.
Experience: Five (5) years of teaching experience in the field of pediatric nursing and/or medical surgical nursing in a health care facility or five (5) years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of medical surgical nursing and/or pediatric nursing in a health care facility
Professor Level
Education: Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in nursing.
Experience: Six (6) years of teaching experience pediatric nursing and/or medical surgical nursing in a health care facility two years (2) of which shall have been in the supervision of students or personnel in educational activities or academic program administration or six (6) years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of pediatric nursing and/or medical surgical nursing in a health care facility two (2) years of which shall have been in the supervision of personnel or program/project administration.
License/Certification: Current license as RN in the State of NH. Employment is contingent on receipt of NH Board of Nursing Nurse Educator Approval.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION: Extensive teaching and/or health care industry experience preferred.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Thorough knowledge of teaching methods the use of instructional materials and the organization of subject matter into effective teaching units in technology or other specialized programs. Complete knowledge of the principles methods techniques and equipment in subjects being taught. Ability to evaluate student progress and provide guidance to both students and instructors. Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others. Ability to supervise professional instructional staff and collaborate in development of programs policies and procedures. Ability to work effectively with businesses and community organizations. Ability to originate and implement new programs and to improve existing programs. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
