Job Description

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Responsible for daily operations and coordination of clinic records across Trinity Health including rural clinics. Provides planning and coordination to ensure record processing operations for all clinic records is carried out in accordance with laws regulations and record maintenance and retention recommendations. Responsible for ensuring data and information integrity as it relates to the enterprise master patient index as well as encounter documentation transcription and interfaced documents. Responsible for preparation of the text files for accurate distribution into the electronic health record serving the organization and its customers. Responsible for oversight of all clinical dictation and transcription for the hospitals and medical groups within the Trinity Health System. The position has responsibility for recruitment and retention of qualified staff as well as coordination of services with outside vendors and independent contractors. Responsible for evaluation and recommendation of technology advancements and implementations with capability to improve the preparation of reports critical to patient care and reimbursement.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
    • Licenses and Certifications Required
      • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
    • Educational Requirements
      • Bachelors or Associate degree in Health Information Management Business Administration Computer Science or related field required. Associates degree will be considered only with education and experience relative to the size and scope of the organization.
    • Experience Requirements
      • Minimum three (3) years experience in healthcare setting. Previous management experience.
    • Special Skills or Training Requirements
      • Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Word Power Point and Excel. Expert level experience with electronic medical records and data management. Possess knowledge of existing and emerging federal and state requirements related to privacy and security of health information as well as meaningful use and information exchange. Must be well organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must work independently prioritize multiple tasks and possess strong ability to apply critical thinking.
