Assistant Superintendent Residential Construction
Tacoma WA
Join one of the top home builders in the country as they expand in the South Sound region. This teamoriented company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support site operations in a longterm communitybased assignmentno rotating between jobsites.
As the Assistant Superintendent youll support the Superintendent with managing the job site during home constructionscheduling subcontractors managing site safety coordinating inspections and ensuring excellent customer service. Assistant Superintendent Responsibilities:
- Recognize and enforce quality standards through daily inspection of homes under construction.
- Inspect each house daily to ensure the quality of workmanship is in accordance with plans and specifications and determine the status as it compares to the production schedule.
- Schedule and walk all inspections with various inspectors.
- Maintain a safe work site by enforcing safety requirements good housekeeping regulations safe work habits and by observing OSHA requirements and any statelevel agency regulations.
- Walk each completed home before the homeowner walkthrough and closing signoff to make sure that the home is complete clean and meets standards of quality.
- Conduct homeowner orientation and any rewalks ensuring homeowner satisfaction.
- Note outstanding homeowner walkthrough items and schedule subcontractor to perform repairs.
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company.
- Execute company policies and enforce uniformity on construction methods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Assist Superintendent in the scheduling of subcontractors and in absence of Superintendent ensure all schedules policies and guidelines are maintained.
Assistant Superintendent Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of relevant industry experience or an equivalent in vendor project or schedule management. Experience in construction preferred
- Must have a vehicle capable of carrying supplies and a valid drivers license
- Experience with MS Office and email.
- Ability to stand walk sit kneel bend climb balance stoop crouch crawl and navigate stairs for extended periods. Manual dexterity lifting strength up to 50 pounds and good vision (close distance color peripheral) are essential.
- Effective communication skills are also required.
- Ability to develop and maintain good rapport with subcontractors and homeowners.
