Job Description:
The Director of Simulation manages and coordinates all logistics for the systems and learning activities in clinical skills including training managing coordinating and monitoring resources and activities. The Director works with the Program Director Program Faculty and Simulation Education Specialist to ensure quality improvement in simulation activities and assessment. The Director assists in developing new curricular activities including those that utilize human simulation. Promote and maintain all departmental duties and responsibilities in accordance with CAAHEP/ARCAA AAAA/ASA ASPE and SSiH code of ethics and standards of best practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaison with program faculty for coordination of labs simulated patient encounters and simulation events
- Implement plans for continued professional development for staff
- Assist in preparation of reports
- Assist in annual review of applicable policies and procedures
- Assist in daily management of center operations
- Implement quality assurance measures for clinical skills and simulation activities
- Assists faculty in the curriculum development design and implementation of new simulationbased educational initiatives
- Collaborates with faculty/staff members on simulationbased research projects
- Supports faculty in best practices for simulation educational design and implementation
- Collaborates with IT and facilities staff to ensure functionality and maintenance of hardware and software
- Assists in the assessment of clinical skills related events
- Screens Selects and trains SPs with the assistance of the SP Educator
- Monitors budget projections and stewardship of department resources
- Manages supplies materials or items needed for the clinical skills center and activities
- Engages in professional development
- Attends meetings related to clinical skills education and human simulation
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree. Four years experience within a healthcare related work environment graduate level education or healthcare simulation center
- Experience with simulation in a medical school setting.
- CHSE or CHSOS or eligible to become certified
- Knowledge of SPs and simulation related to medical students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with clinical faculty
- Skill in management communication and facilitation of complex activities involving multiple stakeholders
- Skill in networking and collaboration
- Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team
- Ability to exercise excellent time management and organizational skills creativity and ability to be flexible
- Ability to train and supervise staff including on best practices
