Bay Cove Academy is a therapeutic day school that specializes in trauma-informed services for students ages 12-22 with complex trauma histories mental health issues educational challenges and/or behavioral difficulties. Bay Cove Academy offers students a supportive environment that addresses their education clinical pre-vocational recreational and behavioral needs. Individual group and milieu counseling are provided.
Bay Cove Academy utilizes unique ARC (Attachment Self-Regulation and Competency) and BCC (Building Communities of Care) treatment frameworks that focus on building individual capacities for emotion regulation personal strengths and healthy relationships. Certified special education teachers provide students with curriculum that is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework.
What Youll Do:
Bay Cove Academy is seeking a highly organized and professional candidate to serve as the Director of Education. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents familiarity with Special Education law DESE regulations writing IEPs facilitating meetings writing curriculum differentiating instruction and the implementation of the schools Anti-Bullying and Anti-Hazing programs and policies.
The Director of Education will construct the master schedule and assign students and staff to classes that meet the regulations of the DESE and the mission of the school. The Director of Education is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of the teachers as well as educational support staff. The Director of Education is also a member of the Administrative Team that will oversee program management training and development.
