The CPS Summer Scholars program is a four week summer learning experience for current grade 57 students with demonstrated academic need.
The program will operate from 8:3012:00 at The Putnam Avenue School from July 7 to August 1. The day is organized into a block schedule and studies will have Math ELA and enrichment periods each day. The student teacher ratio will be 1:12.
The CPS Summer Scholars teacher under the direction of the CPS Summer Scholars Principal Director of MTSS and Program Manager will be responsible for:
Providing a fun safe themebased summer learning experience that promotes high expectations for all students;
Facilitating literacy or math instruction according to their assigned content area using district provided curriculum (Fishtank Math Camp) and intervention materials;
Monitoring student progress toward academic goals; and
Supporting students during local field trips and special events.

MinimumRequirements:
CPS Summer Scholars teachers must have the ability to teach students with a range of learning needs in multiage classrooms. MA DESE licensure in English 58 Mathematics 58 and/or Moderate Disabilities preK8 preferred. Priority will be given to regularly appointed teachers from Cambridge Public School District.
Length of Contract: May 1August 1 2025
Contract Amount:
MayJune 2025: $50 per hour ($750 not to exceed 15 hours)
JulyAugust 2025: $50 per hour ($5000 not to exceed 100 hours)

Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a nonexemptemployee and have worked more than 40 hours a week you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours.
