Are you a skilled transportation engineer with a passion for delivering highquality infrastructure solutions Were seeking aSenior Project Engineerto join our Highway Department and take a leading role in the design and execution of critical transportation projects across New York State.
In this role youll manage projects through the full lifecyclefrom planning and design to construction supportwhile mentoring junior engineers and fostering strong client relationships. Youll bring deep technical expertise in highway design modeling and a collaborative mindset to help deliver innovative sustainable and costeffective solutions.
Youll also play a key role in shaping two of the regions most impactful infrastructure efforts: theI81 Viaduct Projectand theOnondaga County/Micron Transportation Improvementsprojects that will redefine mobility and connectivity in Central New York.

Position Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Oversee the entire project lifecycle from initial concept development through construction and closeout. Provide technical leadership and ensure quality and efficiency at every stage.
- Design Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge in transportation design to develop creative efficient solutions for roadway and infrastructure projects. Prepare design reports plans specifications and bid documents.
- Team Development: Mentor and support junior engineers sharing technical knowledge and project management best practices. Foster a collaborative growthoriented team culture.
- Client Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients. Understand their goals and expectations to deliver solutions that exceed requirements and build longterm trust.
Skills Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- LicensedProfessional Engineer (PE)in New York State
- Minimum8 years of experiencein transportation design with a strong focus onNYSDOT/Federal Aidprojects
- Proficiency inAutoCAD/Civil 3DandMicroStation/OpenRoads
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders
Compensation and Benefits:
- Estimated Salary Range: $97760 $120640/year*
