Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Program Coordinator II plays a key role in supporting the mission of Mindful Body & Recovery Program with a focus on outreach education and collaboration within the community and across Riverside University Health System (RUHS). This position works closely with the Staff Department Officer (SDO) to coordinate initiatives related to Mindful Body and Recovery and eating disorder awareness and resources.

The Program Coordinator II will be responsible for conducting community outreach to raise awareness of the programs services and goals. They will facilitate educational workshops for external agencies and internal RUHS programs focusing on Mindful Body and Recovery while also building and maintaining partnerships with contracted agencies and RUHS employees. The coordinator will represent the program at community events trainings and stakeholder meetings developing and delivering professional presentations to clearly communicate program objectives and resources. Additionally the role involves assisting the Staff Department Officer (SDO) in creating a userfriendly accessible digital hub for eating disorder support and education. The Program Coordinator II will attend and actively participate in internal huddles trainings and onsite meetings coordinating and scheduling multiple meetings to ensure alignment with program goals. They will work closely with the SDO to support the planning and implementation of program strategies and maintain accurate documentation of outreach activities and stakeholder engagement.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Establish program goals and objectives and determine priorities; provide supervision technical assistance and consultation to program staff.

Interpret and implement state and federal program mandates; establish and interpret program policy; monitor and evaluate program activities and budget expenditures; collect and analyze statistical data.

Develop and write proposals for grant applications; may determine medical eligibility and authorize expenditure of program funds for diagnosis and treatment or delivery of services.

Supervise staff in the preparation of case records the determination of financial eligibility the encumbrance of accounts and the preparation of required reports.

Communicate directly with physicians and other healthcare providers or manager concerning individual cases and administrative matters as appropriate.

Serve as liaison with funding authority and departmental fiscal unit regarding program financial issues.

Prepare annual and quarterly reports; meet with interested community organizations to promote program goals.

Conduct educational outreach activities and develop program information materials for distribution to organizations community groups schools and the general public.

Represent the department at meetings with local state and federal program representatives; prepare a variety of reports records and correspondence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree with major coursework in health education nutrition healthcare or hospital administration public health business or public administration health science communication/journalism zoology early childhood education child development or a closely related field. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to two years of the required education on a yearforyear basis.)

A Masters degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following: public health nutrition public business or healthcare administration may be required for specific RUHSPH RUHSBH RUHSCare Clinics or RUHSMC positions.

A Masters degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following: early childhood education child development or education may be required for specific Children and Families Commission positions.

Experience: Three years of administrative or supervisory experience which included the coordination management or administration of medical care behavioral or public health environmental health animal services programs or early care and education programs.

Knowledge of: Administrative principles applicable to the organization and functions of program planning implementation and evaluation; elements of supervision and principles of personnel management; budget preparation and control; grantsmanship; medical terminology; public relations and marketing.

Ability to: Supervise train and coordinate the work of program staff; analyze operations and services related to programs; interpret legislative and administrative mandates and regulations to project probable impact to the organization; develop and prepare grant applications; monitor expenditures and maintain fiscal control; establish and maintain effective working relationships with local federal and state program agencies and the general public; prepare comprehensive and clear oral and written reports and presentations.
