Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Vice President RTR (US Indirect Tax)
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Vice President Tax Lead Applicant would be responsible for running overall Indirect Tax operations for a client without surprise and understanding team/Client Responsibilities. It includes indirect tax compliance and strategy including sales and use tax and valueadded tax (VAT) & WHT etc. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can manage complex tax operations ensure regulatory compliance and drive process improvements across multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
Lead indirect tax compliance processes including preparation review and filing of sales and use tax returns and VAT submissions.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize indirect tax processes while ensuring compliance with US and international regulations.
Builds a collaborative relationship with the key client partners in the customer site proactively asks for feedback and takes full responsibility of the process and overall account.
Handles all client related communication including but not limited to recurrent operational reviews NPS and strategic priorities.
Responsible for negotiating and transitioning of a new scope within the managed accounts.
Identifies and communicates risk areas to regional & global leadership whilst providing solutionoriented points of view.
Provide expert guidance on indirect tax laws regulations and emerging trends to internal stakeholders.
Manage relationships with external advisors auditors and tax authorities during audits and inquiries.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to address indirect tax implications for business transactions and projects.
Mentor and develop a highperforming team of tax professionals.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Chartered Accountant with relevant years of experience in indirect tax compliance and strategy with expertise in sales and use tax and VAT.
Relevant years of experience in filing US fuel excise tax returns.
Experience in Energy Business Industry.
Knowledge of Oracle PDI or OTS ERP systems.
Advanced proficiency in Excel including lookups pivots and formulas.
Several years of experience in a BPO/Call Center/Shared Services environment.
Relevant years of Experience in US indirect tax regulations and VAT principles across global jurisdictions specifically US fuel excise tax returns.
Proven leadership experience in managing teams and driving operational excellence.
Great communication skills: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships of trust and credibility with internal stakeholders and suppliers. Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with senior stakeholders and external partners.
Execution: Ability to meet deadline and work well under pressure
Project management and coordination skills are often required due to the complex nature and scope of many of our projects and initiatives.
Ability to think strategically and communicate in a conceptual/structured way
Ability to translate finance business needs into efficient tools & processes.
Experience in team management and transitions.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Experience working in a shared services or multinational environment.
Knowledge of emerging technologies in tax compliance such as automation tools or gen AI solutions.
Professional certifications like CPA or CMA are highly desirable.
