Key Responsibilities:
As a Purchase Associate you will be responsible for purchasing and ensuring the timely delivery of Provision and Safety items required for our vessels. This role involves managing supplier relationships ensuring compliance with safety quality and costefficiency standards.
In addition to procurement you will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels managing stock replenishment and addressing any supply issues that may arise. A key part of your role will be maintaining accurate records of purchases costs and performance metrics to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Collaboration with internal teams such as safety and compliance departments is crucial to ensure that all procured goods meet the organizations safety protocols.
You will have an endtoend responsibility accountability and handling entire demand to delivery process for allocated set of Maersk Line vessels and ensure the 4R Principle Right price Right Place Right Time and Right Quantity.
Running the RFQ process with noncontracted suppliers for optimal deliveries.
Follow Procure to Pay process (PTP) for timely payments to all vendors and handle invoices with discrepancies.
Support Stakeholders with technical organizations through daily interactions and addressing their concerns in a timely manner.
To be familiar with IT platform / system operation to be able to do the assigned operational tasks efficiently.
Support Senior Buyers in Cleanup and Housekeeping activity.
Support with feedback and learnings towards assigned team Initiatives around Category Strategies. Should be keen on learning and acquiring right skill set.
Support with implementing automation as part of the Digital Agenda.
Support Senior colleagues with Supplier Performance Management tasks.
Share inputs with Master data teams to optimize backend data quality.
Assist Senior colleagues with the transactional support around Team initiatives & drives.
Always follow the Maersks carbon neutral initiative to minimize the carbon emission in our supply chains.
We are looking for
This position is wellsuited to an individual with strong interpersonal skills capable of developing and influencing internal and external relationships. The ideal candidate will come with:
24 years of experience in procurement domain
A proven track record of planning and supply chain in an international matrix organization.
Has a strong mindset with a natural focus on achieving the most costeffective solutions for the business.
Strong time management and ability to prioritize under ambitious timelines
Experience in the marine industry will be considered an advantage
Graduate in the relevant field /or a masters in supply chain or Operations Management
Furthermore you:
Are a selfdriven team player who understands the importance of stakeholder management can build rapport at all levels even in challenging situations and can encourage and influence others without authority
Have an entrepreneurial mindset and strong analytical skills.
Can take ownership work independently in a structured manner and achieve concrete results.
You can handle risks and uncertainties and are flexible in adapting when priorities change. You feel comfortable challenging the status quo and are motivated to lead change.
Are an excellent communicator in English both in writing and in speaking.
