Weve recently commissioned three stateoftheart fully automated gutter farms within our network of six indoor greenhouses. BrightFarms fresh lettuce options from classic greens to crunchy mixes and salad kits are available in more than 4500 retail stores across the East Coast Midwest and South.

We are looking for a hands on and dynamic General Manager to operate our 1 acre (and growing) farm facility in Loudon New Hampshire. In this critical role youll be at the helm of ensuring operational stability and leadership of the facility ensuring unparalleled performance in people plants and processes. Your leadership will directly influence our ambitious goals and customer satisfaction making this role instrumental to our success trajectory.


Specifically you will:

  • Lead drive and support your team to achieve greenhouse business goals foster a culture of commitment to the BrightFarms ethos
  • Oversee all facets associated with the farm both direct and indirect including production growing Food Safety Quality and people safety
  • Ensure utmost employee and food safety alongside efficient order fulfillment and revenue management
  • Implement production strategies manage labor balance resources and ensure seamless facility maintenance
  • Support and contribute to our ambition of becoming a lean organization fostering and educating to achieve a culture of continuous improvement
  • Translate objectives into actionable plans for the local team ensuring effective execution
  • Maintain an immaculate safe and inviting greenhouse environment
  • Develop and guide the greenhouse management team ensuring alignment with BrightFarms vision
  • Oversee supply chain and logistics intricacies of the greenhouse
  • Address and mitigate challenges to production goals anticipating potential issues

Ideal Candidate:

  • 1015 years in manufacturing distribution or agriculture/processing (experience in a perishable food business with a valueadded function such as cutting fruits/vegetables processing fruits/vegetables repacking desirable though not a requirement)
  • Proven success and growth in startup and scaleup sites
  • You are a natural problem solver and see challenges as an exciting opportunity to use your skill and resources to create a breakthrough
  • Demonstrable history of achieving ambitious targets while optimizing spend and quality
  • You are a bluecollar executive meaning that you strategic and forward thinking while valuing time on the floor turning wrenches as a critical part of knowing and running your site. Innate leadership qualities coupled with a knack for inspiring motivating and developing teams driving engagement and tenure to ensure operation stability
  • Ability to forge crossfunctional relationships and drive outcomes through collaboration
  • Familiarity and experience using Lean Business Operations tools like standard work 5S visual management and rootcause analysis
  • A desire to be accountable and drive successful outcomes at the farm. Celebrate the wins learn from the setbacks and set the tone and spirit for your site
  • Experience in a 24/7/365 facility helpful
