Job Description
The Xavier University Athletics Department is seeking an AssistantCoach for the Mens and Womens Swimming program. The Department of Athletics sponsors 19 sports programs with more than 330 studentathletes and is a member of the Big East Conference.
The Assistant Mens and Womens Swim Coach shall provide leadership and guidance necessary for a positive competitive environment and has a demonstrated record of success in NCAA Division I program(s) or other relevant sport related programs. Responsible for assisting Head Coach in all facets of the program. This can include but not limited to budgetary items equipment scheduling team travel promotion of the team and University fundraising and alumni events practice planning equipment planning/purchase/inventory and professional development etc. with respect to BIG EAST and NCAA rules. Regularly meets with support personnel to assure eligibility and wellbeing of the student athletes. Must have firm knowledge of and comply with all rules and regulations associated with the NCAA Conference Xavier University and Xavier Universitys Athletic Department.
The Assistant Coach assists in the mentoring of the student athlete to foster athletic academic emotional and social growth; assists in practice planning and skill development assists with team travel; assists with purchasing/inventory of equipment coordinates visiting team requests coordinates with athletic department and other university personnel as needed compiles and maintains statistical information supervises student managers if applicable coordinates team community service represents Head Coach at intercollegiate athletics alumni and University events when required assists with fundraising available for media requests and performs other duties as assigned by Head Coach.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelors Degree required
- 1 3 years experience
