Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for the implementation support and administration of company policies and procedures for the Chicago IL office. This role supports operations in all areas of HR including benefits and payroll administration maintaining records and coaching managers on company policies and employment law compliance. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential and the ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality is required. The Generalist will also perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Duties include (but not limited to):
- Administer Human Resources procedures to ensure full compliance with all company policies and local state and federal employment laws.
- Maintain personnel records and job performance documentation.
- Oversee benefits administration including new hire enrollments employee questions and coordination with insurance providers.
- Administer payrollrelated processes such as timesheet reviews salary updates deductions and coordination with the payroll department to ensure timely and accurate payroll submissions.
- Receive and resolve employee questions regarding benefits wellness programs HRIS systems and general HR inquiries.
- Ensure that company personnel records and data system are maintained in a timely accurate and complete manner that facilitates management decisionmaking and fulfills all legal requirements and regulations.
- Work with HR Manager to ensure enrollments are completed on schedule for all benefit programs.
- Enforces Human Resources Policies.
- Conduct exit interviews and manage the exit process.
- Coordinate the preparation and execution of company related events.
- Create reports such as but not limited to over time non work hours departmental and salary reports as needed.
- Assist with the onboarding process of new employees making sure all documentation are properly completed and processed.
- Partner with employees and managers in assisting with company policies and procedures employee relations group benefits federal and state labor law and training.
- Generate and review payroll and benefits reports as needed to support management decisions.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements Include:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as HR Specialist and/ or Generalist including direct experience with benefits and payroll administration.
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (speak read and write).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
- Strong understanding of federal state and local labor and employment laws.
- Ability to establish priorities manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational time management and communication skills.
- Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems preferred.
