Position: Special Education Secretary/Secretary II
Location: Early Education Center
Position Type:PartTime/6.5 hours per day/218 days per year

Position Overview:
Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work supporting the day to day operations of the department; preparing and maintaining student records and reports; communicating with parents and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Principal and/or assigned Supervising Administrator.
Essential Functions:
Answer phones and direct callers to the appropriate individual; greet visitors and direct to the appropriate location; monitor visitors and security system; monitor and report student attendance as required; issue leave passes to students as required.
Schedule meetings appointments and activities as required; monitor calendars.
Word process letters memos and minutes; proofread materials and create forms; enter retrieve verify spread sheet data; photocopy and fax materials; prepare information packets; provides information for internal and external communication; respond to email inquiries; distribute interoffice mail and incoming postal mail/packages. Management of Special Education Due Process files within Sped Forms. Collaboartion with other building secretaries and the MARSS coordinator.
Assist and respond to inquiries and requests of staff faculty/coaches students or parents; provide backup and relieve staff when required.
Maintain office equipment trouble shoot minor problems contact vendors; maintain academic and office supply inventory order supplies when required; gather materials to support classrooms.
Create and maintain files and databases on personal demographic and academic information on students; prepare and run reports and forward to the appropriate individual or agency as required.
Participate in professional development activities as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED with coursework in secretarial administrative support bookkeeping or related field and moderate experience in an office or customer service setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation: $22.30 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
