Job Description

Job Title: Quality Inspector C (2nd Shift)

Job Code: 24118

Job Location: Alpharetta GA

Job Description:

Responsible for inspecting materials equipment and assemblies; interpreting manufacturing drawings and specifications; validating products and documentation for compliance; and preparing items for customer acceptance and and train less experienced inspectors. Review records for completeness including Work Orders and Engineering Changes. Verify assembly test results for completeness and accuracy. Perform surveillance audits and conduct surveillance of workmanship equipment calibration and processes. Interface with internal counterparts in various departments. Report assembly problems and generate nonconformance documents. Verify and record configuration for Document Control and Customer/Government Representatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Verify previous operations are completed and accepted.
  • Compare work order/document package to assembly for accuracy.
  • Perform visual inspection of electrical assemblies to standards.
  • Check parts subassemblies and assemblies for workmanship standards.
  • Conduct mechanical and dimensional inspections using tools.
  • Verify process specification requirements (e.g. conformal coating inspection).

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or an Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with JSTD001 and/or IPCA610 and IPCA620 requirements.
  • Must be able to interpret/ follow documents such as: Drawings Procedures Engineering Change (EOs) Work Orders and Work Instructions.
  • Ability to work with measurements and math.
  • Knowledgeable of assembly practices and requirements.
  • Interface with Engineering Production Planning Quality Engineering Manufacturing Engineering and Internal Customers.
  • Knowledge in Quality systems and processes is desirable.
  • Familiarity with AS and ISO requirements.
  • Must be able to operate a standard personal computer
  • Good interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
