Senate Bill 411 merged the Department of Corrections and the Pennsylvania Parole Board. This position is within the Department of Corrections.
As a Institutional Parole Assistant you will provide clerical and technical assistance within the institutional parole office at SCI Coal Township. You will control inmates in the parole release process by ensuring they are released in accordance with the laws governing release of offenders and PA Parole Board policy. You will also interview inmates to determine their home plan needs and record status changes as well as monitor drug screening home plan investigations and misconduct reports.This role requires requires strong attention to detail and thorough understanding of Parole Board policies and procedures to research pertinent information used to determine parole eligibility. In addition you will prepare offender files for transfer to other institutions communicate release dates with DOC records staff prepare correspondence and order office supplies.
