JOB GOAL:
The Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and oversight for all personnel functions across the district. In partnership with the Superintendent and senior leadership team the Director leads efforts to recruit hire and retain a highly effective and diverse workforce; ensures consistent and collaborative labor and employee relations; and promotes an inclusive professional culture. The Director is responsible for the administration of employment policies and labor contracts and for ensuring that all HR operationssuch as recruitment onboarding employee support and personnel recordsare aligned with district goals and legal requirements.

Equity and Workforce Diversity
Advance district priorities related to equity and access through hiring and retention practices.
Lead efforts to recruit hire and retain a highly effective and diverse workforce.
Support and expand Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to promote belonging and professional growth.
Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure inclusive equitable practices that reflect district values.
Serve as a district representative to the Mass Partnership for Diversity in Education (MPDE).
Employee and Labor Relations
Serve as a responsive and solutionoriented resource for principals and supervisors on all personnel matters.
Advise school and department leaders on employee relations contract implementation and performance concerns.
Investigate personnel matters including grievances and disciplinary issues and recommend appropriate followup.
Serve as the district ADA Title IX and Employee Assistance liaison.
Coordinate the grievance process and ensure compliance with negotiated agreements.
Counsel employees on employmentrelated matters and support early conflict resolution.
Ensure all personnel actions align with legal standards district policies and due process requirements.
Policy and Legal Compliance
Develop revise and communicate personnel policies and procedures in alignment with district objectives and current law.
Ensure compliance with all federal state and local employment laws and regulations.
Maintain current ADAcompliant job descriptions for all staff.
Review and determine the suitability of CORI fingerprinting and SAFIS background checks.
Consult legal counsel as needed and support the resolution of employmentrelated disputes.
Hiring Onboarding and Retention
Oversee all stages of recruiting selecting and onboarding staff including substitutes and senior administrators.
Partner with school and district leaders to support highquality hiring and longterm retention.
Oversee applicant tracking and personnel record management systems.
Facilitate annual orientation for new staff and oversee the educator mentoring and induction program.
Maintain partnerships with colleges and universities to support educator pipelines.
Conduct exit interviews and use feedback to inform retention strategies and continuous improvement.
Staff Supervision and Evaluation
Collaborate with building leaders on staff assignments evaluation practices and licensure compliance.
Ensure evaluators complete assigned evaluation responsibilities accurately and on time.

Assistant Director of Human Resources
Administrative Assistant
Administrative Assistant/Receptionist (shared with Finance and TLI)
Substitute Coordinator
Compensation and Classification
Establish salaries for new hires and update the nonrepresented pay schedule annually including periodic benchmarking against comparable districts.
Monitor compliance with the Massachusetts Equal Pay Act (MEPA).
Oversee classification systems and work with the Assistant Superintendent of Finance to ensure timely accurate payroll data.
Partner with Teaching & Learning to manage tuition reimbursement and lane changes.
Collective Bargaining
Serve on the negotiation team for all employee bargaining units.
Prepare contract data and recommendations with the Assistant Director of HR and the Assistant Superintendent of Finance.
Interpret collective bargaining agreements and ensure consistent districtwide adherence.
Systems Management and Reporting
Maintain licensure records and manage personnel data systems.
Oversee personnel records and ensure confidentiality and compliance.
Prepare and submit personnelrelated reports for the superintendent School Committee and state/federal agencies.
Communication Culture and Customer Service
Serve as a strategic partner and serviceoriented resource for school leaders supporting their HRrelated needs and challenges.
Provide timely accurate and professional support to principals and administrators across all HR functions.
Keep employees informed of important deadlines benefits and personnel updates.
Develop accessible HR resources for staff.
Promote Natick Public Schools as a great place to work through branding and outreach efforts.
Town Collaboration
Represent the district on relevant town committees.
Collaborate with town departments on payroll benefits workers compensation and leave management.
Liaise with the Occupational Health Nurse on returntowork planning and accommodations.
Additional Duties
Attend West Suburban Health Group Board meetings.
Coordinate and oversee FMLA processes for all employees.
Periodically present to the School Committee on HR matters.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Occasional evening work required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises all employees in the department: Assistant Director of Human Resources Administrative Assistant to the Director of Human Resources Administrative Assistant/Receptionist for HR Finance and TLI and Substitute Coordinator. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; providing positive reinforcement where appropriate and disciplining employees where appropriate; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
