TITLE: Data and Student Information Systems Administrator
LOCATION: USD #116 Central Office
HOURS: 7:30 AM 4:30 PM

JOB SUMMARY: The Data and Student Information Systems Administrator provides management of the database systems and applications used across the District and plans directs and/or coordinates activities in areas related to data processing and systems analysis. This position is responsible for managing the operations of District information systems and collaborating with Information Technology (IT) on the student information system (SIS) and Skyward. Additional responsibilities include coordinating local state and federal reporting and providing staff members with technical assistance and training in the proper use of District information systems specifically SIS and Skyward.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Input and update student and staff data (related to SIS) into information systems;
- Maintain data integrity and ongoing quality control of information systems data;
- Manage information system functions such as calendars scheduling and gradebooks;
- Coordinate student records processing for all schools;
- Complete State and Federal reporting for all schools including Civil Rights Data Collection Evidencebased funding Transportation Report Student Discipline School Report Card Homeless Data ELL Data etc.;
- Provides needed data for coordinating services for students with First Student Planning (transportation);
- Provides assistance to schools with developing and maintaining attendance reporting grade reporting registration and scheduling conferences discipline reporting student enrollment procedures and the IT Department to perform patching updates and rollovers;
- Collaborate and assist the District Testing Coordinator in areas such as ACCESS IAR DLM KIDS and ACT;
- Set up and import test scores into Skyward for Benchmark ACCESS IAR etc.
- Assist with District assessment evaluation and research efforts;
- Communicate with Illinois school districts to ensure records from student transfers are current and accurate;
- Manage and maintain the districts student information data systems;
- Maintain clean accurate data in the student information system;
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding SIS functions operating procedures and the dissemination of updates to users;
- Collaborate with various schoolbased stakeholders to ensure all information is updated in the databases in a timely manner;
- Assist with problemsolving and troubleshooting for events or projects related to student information systems;
- Assist the Student Services (SPED) department in coordinating student data including ISTAR Embrace etc.;
- Set up attendance letters in Skyward
- Serve as the primary point of contact for daytoday SIS and Skyward support and problem resolution;
- Respond to and resolve access and performance issues related to District information systems;
- Develop and maintain training materials for endusers;
- Attend and participate in meetings conferences and seminars to be informed of new developments in managing information systems especially in relation to state and federal regulations governing student information and other state requirements (specifically for SIS and Skyward);
- Provide professional development and guidance on Skyward systems to enrich the knowledge of others;
- Create spreadsheets across multiple indicators that disaggregate student information into drilldown reports;
- Additional work time will be necessary when reports and major deadlines require attention;
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree (preferably in the field of information systems data management or equivalent)
- Any combination of three (3) years of directly related work experience or college coursework that would provide knowledge in working with information systems or databases.
- Prior successful work with SIS and Skyward is highly desirable.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 12 Months; Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
- Pay range $21.25 $25.75

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Superintendent of Schools or designee using the Districts evaluation instrument.
