Position Description
The Distribution Center Manager ensures all tasks are completed in a safe efficient manner and is ultimately accountable for a profitable organization.
Responsibilities
The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for but not limited to:
Associate Relations
- Prepare maintain and communicate all operational goals while ensuring all operational procedures are being followed per company guidelines
- Manage coach mentor and develop staff to achieve objectives; conduct performance reviews
- Participate in the recruitment and new hire onboarding process while ensuring SCLSs culture is being fostered
- Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures
- Address complaints and resolve problems
Customer Relations
- Provide superior customer service by maintaining professional and courteous relationships with all customers
- Interface with internal stakeholders as well as customers to establish and accomplish goals
- Communicate progress/conditions and conduct tours for the customer as directed by upper management
- Audit operations to ensure service standards are being met
- Act as a liaison with carrier contractors and customers
- Act as a community representative for SCLS
- Create and deliver effective verbal presentations to management and customers as necessary
Operational Excellence
- Ensure company values are observable throughout the operation
- Monitor space utilization/layout to ensure efficient and costeffective operations
- Monitor and ensure departmental/facility key performance indicators (KPI) are met in a timely and costeffective manner
- Ensure proper maintenance and sanitation of equipment grounds pest control and refuse disposal
Business Profitability
- Ongoing management of facility fiscal performance including profit & loss and budgeting
- Ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of all necessary reports and records regarding facility operations
- Monitor facility purchasing process to include: auditing guideline compliance and approval by creating programs to maximize cost savings for SCLS and customers
- Manage inbound and outbound loading/unloading accuracy of inventory and warehousing
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Logistics Business Management or other related field is required
- 10 years of experience within the 3PL industry
- 5 years are in a leadership role of a warehouse or distribution center
- 4 years of experience managing a P&L
- Working knowledge of WMS; Softeon preferred
- Experience in an order fulfillment environment
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to drive results and develop team while creating strong relationships with clients and internal associates
- Excellent communication and presentations skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers clients associates and the general public
- Identify and understand issues problems and opportunities; possess solid judgment problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
- Strong analytical skills including analysis and interpretation of complex business documents as well as statistics and modeling
- A proven track record of mentoring and developing direct reports and subordinates
- Ability to apply Lean principles and process improvements within operations
- Ability to multitask numerous projects
SALARY LEVEL
- $120000 $160000 Salary is commensurate to experience and location.
