Job Summary
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering highquality
academic content aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. This role involves
mentoring teachers developing interdisciplinary units and ensuring curriculum implementation aligns
with IB principles. The SME will serve as a knowledge resource for educators and students fostering a
culture of inquiry and critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities
SubjectSpecific Content Development: Create subjectspecific lesson plans assessments
and instructional materials aligned with IB PYP standards and frameworks.
Curriculum Planning and Execution: Provide expertise in curriculum design mapping and
effective implementation for assigned subject(s) within the IB PYP framework.
Teacher Mentorship: Mentor and guide teachers to apply inquirybased teaching
methodologies and facilitate conceptdriven learning experiences.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work with academic teams to design and implement
transdisciplinary units integrating global contexts and promoting internationalmindedness.
Professional Development: Conduct workshops training sessions and professional
development programs for teachers to enhance IB PYP teaching practices.
Student Engagement: Ensure the curriculum fosters critical thinking creativity and active
engagement among students through interactive and inquirybased learning strategies.
IBSpecific Guidance: Provide expert support for core IB PYP components such as the
Exhibition ensuring alignment with IB standards.
Policy and Best Practices: Stay informed about the latest IB guidelines policies and
recommended best practices sharing insights with the academic team.
Performance Analysis: Analyze student performance data to identify areas of improvement
recommending adjustments to teaching methodologies and curriculum.
Balanced Approach: Promote academic rigor while maintaining a studentcentered holistic
approach to education in line with IB PYP principles.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Masters degree in the relevant subject or Education.
Certification in IB curriculum delivery/Workshops (preferred).
Experience:
5 years of teaching experience in IB schools with a specialization in the assigned subject.
Proven expertise in curriculum development and teacher mentoring.
Skills:
Deep understanding of the IB framework including assessment criteria and inquirybased
learning.
Strong research analytical and content development skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with educators and
students.
Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching and learning processes.
Ability to inspire and guide educators towards academic excellence.
Work Conditions
Location: corporate office
Work hours: Specify hours e.g. 8:30 AM 4:30 PM.
Travel: Occasional travel to conduct training sessions or attend workshops.
