Job Description

The Edinburgh & Lothians Strategic Drainage Partnership (ELSDP) is an innovative collaboration that unites public bodies to deliver effective placebased planning for drainage and surface water management across Edinburgh and the Lothians. To guide and drive forward the ELSDP vision were looking for a dynamic Partnership Manager to lead the way.

In this role youll take charge of ELSDP opportunities from the ground up overseeing projects from inception through to operations. Youll be a catalyst for change inspiring and influencing both internal partners and external stakeholders to adopt rainwater and drainage management solutions. Your work will help integrate these solutions into everyday practices delivering significant benefits for the Edinburgh and Lothians region while ensuring the best value for both operations and local communities.

What youll do

In this role youll lead the planning and delivery of key activities to bring the ELSDP ambitions and vision to life. Youll be responsible for managing and prioritising projects focused on Rainwater & Drainage Management including innovative BlueGreen Infrastructure (BGI) solutions. As part of this youll have an overarching view of all Rainwater Management partnership opportunities ensuring smooth coordination and consistency across different teams and projects acting as the air traffic controller to keep everything aligned and working seamlessly.

Youll work closely with various partner organisations helping to ensure that everyones strategic priorities are aligned and that were all working towards a common goal. Youll take the lead in creating and embedding a Rainwater & Drainage Management partnership framework which will include developing strategies delivery plans and success measures. Youll also establish business processes to track the value delivered through partnerships such as securing funding improving services and creating wider benefits.

Youll ensure that partnerships deliver the necessary evidence and data to support project business cases. Youll also collaborate with legal and commercial teams to develop partnership agreements and funding arrangements. Youll be responsible for leading communication between Scottish Water local authorities SEPA and other key stakeholders making sure everyone stays informed and aligned. Additionally youll manage relationships and serve as the point of escalation for any issues related to Rainwater & Drainage Management partnership projects. Finally youll share knowledge across other drainage partnerships in Scotland helping to disseminate lessons learned and demonstrating both successes and areas for improvement.

What youll need

Youll lead the partnership using an agile approach to deliver the ELSDP vision and develop a rainwater drainage management framework in line with Scottish Government policies. Ensuring alignment across workstreams like Integrated Urban Waters 20minute neighbourhoods and Climate Ready Edinburgh will be key.

Youll support Technical Groups in prioritising the programme ensuring it meets stakeholder needs and track the programmes progress and budget. Youll provide technical support and guidance to Project Groups as needed keeping everything on track.

Being proactive in managing partners and meeting deadlines will be essential. Youll organise ELSDP meetings ensuring agendas minutes and actions are prepared. Your focus will be on driving the ELSDP objectives and leading the BlueGreen City Partnership Group to overcome obstacles.

Youll ensure workstreams align with the Edinburgh Adaptation and Nature Partnership and chair relevant Working and Steering Groups to keep the programme moving forward.

The notsosmall print

This role will be a Grade 8. If youre new to Scottish Water youll join us on a starting salary of 48900. Performancedriven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of 68510.
