An opportunity has arisen within the Adult Social Care Customer Service Centre for a permanent Community Support Worker within the Carers Team.
This role will be to deliver an improved offer to Carers in Leicestershire. The role will involve processing digital and telephone requests for carer support and completing Carers Assessments in line with The Care Act 2014. In occasional circumstances this role may involve meeting with Carers face to face.
A key part of the role will be supporting Carers to navigate through the pathway to support and assist them to :
Feel supported to find their own solutions.
Identify manage and review their own outcomes risks and capacity to care.
Feel supported through the Carers assessment process
Deliver a response that meets the agreed outcomes for both Carer and cared for.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of completing Carers assessments in line with The Care Act 2014 is essential.

As aGrade 8Trainee Community Support Worker you will be in your first CSW role and will be expected to develop experience knowledge and skills complete their Learning and Induction Programme and undertake your duties with support and supervision.
As aGrade 9Community Support Worker you will be expected to have sufficient experience knowledge and skills to manage your workload under supervision to deliver a high quality person centred accountable statutory social care. This includes demonstrating competency undertaking Care and Support Assessments Mental Capacity Assessments and making Best Interest decisions.
As a Community Support Worker there are further opportunities to develop your career in Adult Social Care at Leicestershire County Council such as the opportunity to apply to undertake a Social Work Apprenticeship Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship and routes in leadership roles.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
You will require a valid full driving licence or access to a vehicle for this position.
About You
To apply for this post you must:
Hold a Level 2 in Maths and English
Have relevant experience of working with adults in a social care setting and of working with other agencies within a fieldwork environment.
Understand the need to undertake need and risk assessments and the issues/needs that adults and their families/carers may have.
Have a good understanding of social care organisations and their roles and responsibilities as part of the wider community and voluntary sector.
Be a confident communicator who is skilled in negotiation persuasion assertiveness and conflict management and able to build effective working relationships.
Be able to recognise the limits of own accountability and responsibility and to seek appropriate support and advice when required.
Be able to manage a caseload and work to clear objectives.
You must also have an understanding of and commitment toequality diversity and inclusion.
In addition we also expect you to shareour commitment to our valuesand will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
