About the role

The Mechanical Intern uses their expertise in the definition design and testing of medical device products as part of the development of EP ablation medical devices. As a member of EPs mechanical equipment design team in Montreal they will contribute to development by designing and testing mechanical products for the delivery of treatment. Furthermore they will have the opportunity to take charge and direct studies.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating advanced CAD models of parts assemblies and equipment using SolidWorks tools.
• Creating drawings in SolidWorks following internal Global Boston Scientific Corporation CAD standards and templates.
• Using CAD Database Management tool to track drawings parts assemblies revisions and properties.
• Researching developing designing and evaluating mechanical and electromechanical material components assemblies processes and/or equipment.
• Conducting feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
• Developing new concepts from initial design to market release.
• Directing support personnel and coordinates project activities.
• Maintaining detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.

Required qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering Student or graduate.
• Required minimum years of experience: 2 years with CAD Software such as SolidWorks.
• Strong mechanical engineering CAD skills specifically with plumbing tubing assemblies and sheet metal design using a CAD software.
• Solid lab experience with debug fixtures and test equipment.
• Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
• Excellent organizational communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with a team efficiently and independently.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with geometrical tolerancing and CAD design.
• Experience with thermodynamics and flow analysis.
• Experience using Solidworks Electrical 2D schematic and 3D Routing.

En tant que membre de lquipe de conception du matriel mcanique dEP Montral il contribue de manire importante au dveloppement dappareils mdicaux indits qui transforment les vies en concevant et en exprimentant des produits mcanique pour ladministration de traitements haute tension la communication et linterface avec les sondes. Il aura loccasion de prendre en charge et de diriger des parties des tudes tout en faisant partie dune quipe de conception exprimente qui lui offrira dimportantes possibilits dvolution technique et de carrire.

Responsabilits

• Cre des modles CAD avancs de pices dassemblages et dquipements laide des outils SolidWorks et SolidWorks Electrical.
• Cre des dessins dans SolidWorks conformment aux normes et modles CAD internes de Global Boston Scientific Corporation.
• Utilise loutil de gestion de base de donnes CAD pour suivre les dessins les pices les rvisions et les proprits des assemblages.
• Rechercher dvelopper concevoir et valuer des matriaux composants assemblages processus et/ou quipements mcaniques et lectromcaniques.
• Effectuer des tudes de faisabilit pour vrifier la capacit et la fonctionnalit.
• Dvelopper des nouveaux concepts depuis la conception initiale jusqu la phase de production des produits.
• Diriger le soutien personnel et coordonner les activits du projet.
• Maintient une documentation dtaille tout au long de toutes les phases de recherche et de dveloppement.

Qualifications requises

• Baccalaurat en gnie mcanique ou tudiant(e) en gnie mcanique.
• Minimum dannes dexprience professionnelle pertinente requis: 1 ans avec baccalaurat.
• Excellentes comptences en modles CAD avancs de pices dassemblages et dquipements laide des outils SolidWorks.
• Solides comptences en gnie mcanique notamment en plomberie en assemblages de tubes et en conception de tlerie laide dun logiciel de CAD.
• Grande exprience en laboratoire avec le dbogage les montages et lquipement de test.
• Excellentes comptences organisationnelles de communication et de collaboration.

Qualifications souhaites

• Exprience avec les moteurs les engrenages et/ou les applications de commande de moteurs.
• Exprience en prototypage rapide.
• Exprience en tolrancement gomtrique et analyse thermique.
• Exprience en thermodynamique et analyse de flux.
• Exprience de lutilisation des schmas 2D et du routage 3D de Solidworks Electrical.

Compensation for hourly nonsales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g. any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
