You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a motivated and skilled Instrumentation Specialist to support a Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) project for a client based in Rome Italy. As part of the Owners Engineering team the successful candidate will assist in the review and coordination of instrumentation engineering deliverables during the Appraisal Phase Studies (APS) and FrontEnd Engineering Design (FEED) stages.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and review of instrumentation deliverables for Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) projects during the APS and FEED phases.
Assist in the evaluation of contractor documentation including instrument datasheets I/O lists hookup drawings loop diagrams and specifications.
Contribute to the definition and verification of control system interfaces instrument selection and process measurement strategies.
Work closely with the process control and safety teams to ensure alignment of instrumentation with overall project requirements.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (e.g. IEC ISA) and licensor requirements particularly for modifications to existing units or integration of proprietary systems.
Participate in reviews such as HAZOP SIL assessments and vendor document evaluations under supervision of senior staff.
Provide technical input during instrumentation procurement and support vendor followup when required.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Instrumentation Engineering Electronics or a related field from a recognized university.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation engineering roles within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
Familiarity with instrumentation for process control and safety systems particularly in FEED or early design phases.
Basic knowledge of major control platforms and field instrumentation technologies.
Understanding of engineering standards such as ISA IEC API and related practices.
Strong communication and coordination skills with a willingness to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment.
Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Italian or French is a plus.
