We are seeking an experienced and strategic Engineering Coordinator to lead engineering activities for Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) projects supporting a major client based in Rome Italy. This role is part of the owners engineering team and involves overseeing engineering design efforts managing external contractors and ensuring alignment with project goals and technical requirements. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in mechanical engineering and extensive experience in FEED or Basic Engineering Design within the refining sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering activities for Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) projects with a primary focus on FrontEnd Engineering Design (FEED) and Basic Engineering Design.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of FEED contractors ensuring high technical quality and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Provide engineering leadership across disciplines integrating input from process mechanical instrumentation and other engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes standards and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary design reviews and contribute to crossfunctional project planning and execution.
- Act as a technical liaison between internal stakeholders and external engineering contractors.
- Support risk assessments constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives during project development.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred; other engineering disciplines may be considered based on relevant experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of postgraduate engineering experience including at least 3 years in engineering design for refining or petrochemical projects.
- Strong experience in Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) unit design within FEED or Basic Engineering phases.
- Demonstrated capability in managing engineering activities in a complex multidisciplinary project environment.
- Project management training or direct experience in leading project engineering efforts is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Italian or French is considered a plus.
- Excellent leadership organizational and communication skills.
