Are you passionate about making a difference in a young persons life In this role youll provide structured oneonone support in a home setting to help a youth build independence and thrive.
What Youll Do:
- Teach life skills for independent living.
- Guide behavior management and coping strategies.
- Deescalate crisis situations with effective interventions.
- Collaborate with family care teams and community professionals.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals.
- Maintain a safe clean and supportive home environment.
- Keep accurate documentation and reports.
- Engage in recreational activities that promote growth and wellbeing.

What You Bring
- Diploma in Human or Social Service or other related field
- Experience working with a care team to support youth with diverse needs.
- Or a combination of education training and experience.

- Build strong trusting relationships with youth families and care teams.
- Support youth who have experienced trauma with compassion and understanding.
- Respond calmly to challenging behaviors crises and aggression.
- Apply attachment theory and CBT principles in your approach.
- Guide youth in life skills goalsetting and daily routines.
- Develop personalized schedules and plans to support growth.

- Think critically follow policies and take initiative.
- Manage conflicts effectively and document accurately.
- Keep the home runningshopping cleaning budgeting and meal planning.
- Cook nutritious meals to support a healthy lifestyle.
- Assess safety risks and respond appropriately to crises.
- Administer medications.

- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License safe driving record
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Consent to Criminal Record and Background Check by MCFD
- Unionized position with a 1.85% union dues deduction
- The following training is required and provided to the successful candidate free of charge. Existing certification is an asset: First Aid Mandt SafeTALK Safe Food Handling Medication Management Privacy and Information Sharing AntiBullying and Harassment.
- Physical requirements of the job include supporting individuals with recreational activities and household duties including hiking biking yard work snow removal general cleaning duties etc.
PROGRAM: 611 Up
LOCATION: Kamloops BC
STATUS: FullTime
HOURS of WORK: 40 hours per week
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday between 7:30 am3:30 pm
COMPENSATION: $27.54 $31.61 (Grid 11 as per collective agreement)
