The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) invites applications for the position of
Temporary Superintendent of Student Support Services. The ADEA is a First Nation Education
Authority serving three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan: Black
Lake First Nation Hatchet Lake First Nation and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a
student population of 1400 students in 4 schools with an annual operating budget of $34 million.
The successful candidate will be committed to championing Denesuline language culture and
traditions as they work closely with the Director of Education and other senior administrators. The
Superintendent is responsible for providing educational leadership and support both in the
assigned duties and in the supervision of several schools. The position is based in ADEAs main
office in Prince Albert and travel to the communities is a required part of the role.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction for the Student Support Services program and staff
Supervise Early Learning program and staff
Coordinate Mental Health service delivery
Oversee educational service contractors (Mental Health OT SLP Ed. Psych etc.)
Qualifications:
Understanding and commitment to Dene First Nations culture language and traditions.
Possess or qualify for a Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate.
Masters degree in education or equivalent graduate studies.
Demonstrated exemplary previous central office experience in areas related to the
responsibilities of the position.
Term:
Duties are expected to commence August 5 2025 and conclude June 30 2026.
