Job Description
The Analyst will support the Latin America Real Assets team in conducting investment research developing investment recommendations implementing investment strategies and monitoring portfolio assets within the Infrastructure and Sustainable Energies space. In addition to the regional responsibilities the analyst may also collaborate on global investments supporting our worldwide efforts in Infrastructure and Sustainable Energies.
Team Description
The Analyst will join the Real Assets team at CPP Investments based in So Paulo with a primary focus on Infrastructure and Sustainable Energies investments across Latin America. The team invests across a broad range of sectors including transportation utilities renewables and energy transition.
The So Paulobased Real Assets team oversees a regional portfolio of approximately C$16 billion (R$65 billion) across 16 assets spanning Infrastructure Sustainable Energies and Real Estate with investments in Brazil Mexico Chile and Peru. The team comprises 12 investment professionals dedicated to sourcing executing and managing investments throughout the region.
Accountabilities:
As an Analyst you will work with Associates Senior Associates Principals and Managing Directors on small deal teams to:
- Analyze potential investment opportunities across the Infrastructure and Sustainable Energies sectors
- Build and maintain financial models to support valuation returns analysis and sensitivity testing
- Conduct fundamental research on companies sectors and markets to support investment decisionmaking
- Support the due diligence processes including coordination with external advisors and partners
- Actively contribute to all stages of the investment process from screening to execution
- Monitor portfolio companies and assist in preparing performance updates and valuation materials
- Develop and maintain relationships with partners advisors and management teams throughout origination due diligence and asset management
Qualifications :
- 13 years of fulltime experience in investment banking private equity Corporate M&A or a related field
- Strong financial modelling skills with capacity to build financial models and financial analysis
- Excellent analytical quantitative and valuation skills
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial statements and knowledge of valuation techniques
- Fluent in English as well as Portuguese or Spanish; excellent communication both written and verbal
- Have a track record of academic achievement and professional advancement
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Have great communication interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Candidates must exhibit conduct consistent with our guiding principles of integrity partnership and high performance
