Library Shelver Belmont Library

Geelong Regional Library Corporation



We are currently offering a casual Library Shelver role to work at our Belmont Library. The role of the Library Shelver is to work closely with Geelong Regional Library Corporation team members to support the shelving and display of library materials.


The Library Shelver is responsible for the sorting and shelving of library materials under guidance and supervision from the Library Coordinator and senior staff members. The successful applicant will be required to maintain a neat collection by shelving accurately and by ensuring they are maintaining good communication with their team.


What you will bring:

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment contributing positively and supporting colleagues.
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback and able to act on it to improve performance.
  • Ability to manually sorting and shelving library materials across various shelf heights (below knee level and above shoulder height).
  • Ability to understand and implement for themselves safe Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices.
  • Ability to consistently lift and carry light loads throughout the day.
  • Consistently maintains a positive attitude towards work GRLC colleagues and customers.
  • Strong communication literacy and numeracy skills with a keen attention to detail and punctuality.
  • Ability to meet specific library availability requirements.

You are required to be available for 7.5 hours per fortnight scheduled as follows:

  • Tuesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Fridays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Every second Saturday from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM
