This role reports directly to the Group Executive Legal & Chief Risk Officer providing and/or facilitating accurate and sound legal advice on a range of commercial matters that contributes to the achievement of nibs strategic plan with a primary focus on the aphi and Travel businesses.
You will assist and support the Company Secretary in the coordination of board and committee activities for subsidiary boards ensuring best practice governance principles are applied. Engaging with regulators like APRA ASIC and the ACCC and overseeing compliance obligations including governance and regulatory reporting and contribute to policy development and risk management.
Key responsibilities include providing legal advice on mergers & acquisitions private health insurance NDIS general insurance ASX rules corporate competition and consumer law as well as drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and advice.

We are a lean collaborative commercially astute and dynamic legal team with bold ambitions to transform the delivery of legal services inhouse. If you are a team player with a growth mindset and strong legal acumen this role is for you.
We are looking for a highly experienced legal professional with a law degree and 10 years of postadmission experience (PAE) in both private practice and inhouse legal environments. You will be selfdriven with strong organisational presentation and communication skills alongside sound commercial judgment and highlevel interpersonal abilities.
You will possess a solid understanding of company statutory reporting requirements and corporate governance principles.
Desirable:
Industry specific legal expertise
Broad knowledge of legal risk compliance and governance programmes
Experience in legal service design and delivery and/or continuous improvement expertise
