The Office of Indigenous Strategy and Innovation takes a wholeofuniversity view to creating an environment that allows Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and staff to be successful safe and supported at Deakin. We can provide timely evidencebased and culturallygrounded advice to areas of the University that are seeking to improve outcomes for First Nations Peoples.
As an Officer of Indigenous Curriculum you will:
- Coordinate events by administering logistics for workshops and OnCountry learning days including venues catering travel tech support and communications.
- Support the delivery of engaging inperson and online experiences by providing onsite event support and coordinating virtual sessions with seamless followup and participant engagement.
- Build meaningful partnerships via the liaison with Deakin staff Traditional Owners and external providers to ensure culturally respectful and successful event delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement through data and feedback while maintaining detailed event records monitor attendance and conduct evaluations to support reporting and refinement.
- Be the digital and communications goto person using strong administrative and technical skills to manage platforms and tools while ensuring clear professional communication with stakeholders.
In a typical day you will:
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture within the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Innovation by coaching and guiding team members to achieve shared goals fostering open communication and building respectful inclusive relationships.
- Model professionalism and integrity through ethical behaviour informed decisionmaking and seeking expert input when needed.
- Deliver exceptional service by responding promptly and effectively to customer queries and feedback and tailoring communication to meet diverse needs and expectations.

To be successful youll have:
- A degree with no subsequent relevant experience or an associate diploma with at least two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated experience in administration within a large complex organisation including familiarity with administrative policies procedures and structures.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in highpressure fastpaced environments managing facetoface phone and written communication.
- Experience delivering services and support in a large organisational setting.
- Experience working respectfully and effectively with Indigenous Peoples and communities.
- Familiarity with digital platforms such as Smartsheet Eventbrite and SharePoint is desirable.
