Job Description

The Director of Revenue is responsible for optimizing revenue and profit across the customer segments of transient group and contract for the hotel. Recommends and maintains pricing positioning and management of inventory through systems and Ennismore established policies and procedures. Develops strategies to increase room and overall revenue for the property; focusing on profitability with optimal channel and segment mix. Identifies future opportunities and effectively communicates with Sales Marketing & eCommerce. Responsible for developing the annual rooms revenue and Commercial Plan with Sales and Marketing and achieving the KPIs established.  

 

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS 

  • Maintain appropriate yield controls to maximize the Hotel/Resortrevenue from all distribution channels. 

  • Monitor and evaluate market demand trendsensuring all rates are loaded and inventory maintenance is correct in all systems (IDeaS TARS OPERA and other related). 

  • Ensures accurate preparation and analysis of market segmentation reports production reports source contribution analysis daily pickup reports and pace summaries. 

  • Coordinate various activities to further enhance revenue potential. 

  • Leads weekly revenue management meetings. 

  • Refine strategies to increase RevPAR Index (RGI) and achieve Budget and Forecast goals for all properties 

  • Conducts audits to guarantee sell strategy is set correctly in all channels. 

  • Ensure staff is effectively managing all distribution channels (OTAs GDS IDS CRO). 

  • Work with Front Office to optimize upsells and sell out days 

  • Leads the price positioning and distribution for all market segments for the hotels with input from VP of Revenue Management. 

  • Provides recommendations to improve effectiveness of the revenue management process. 

  • Communicates Ennismore/Accor brand initiatives demand and market analyses to hotel management and other stakeholders. 

  • Leads the annual budgeting and pricing process. 

  • Accountable for accurate forecasting to within / 4% for hotel. 

  • Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner 

  • Conduct the necessary weekly or daily revenue and commercial meetings 

  • Conduct all applicable performance reviews 

  • Motivate coach and counsel all department personnel according to brand policies 

  • Conducts interviews and makes hiring decisions 

  • Partner with Executive Committee on areas of collaboration 

  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager 

  • We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service. We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service 

 

 

 


Qualifications :

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY 

The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. 

 

  • Fouryear college degree from an accredited institution; Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management Business Management or similar discipline preferred.  

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive revenue management experience in a full service property luxury resort with a proven track record of delivering marketleading results and innovative solutions. 

  • Must possess superior analytical and interpersonal skills; sound knowledge of the discipline of Revenue Management; indepth knowledge of reservations and sales and marketing including the Global Distribution Network; working knowledge of hotel financial statements; and excellent writing/presentation skills.  

  • Must be proficient in the use of hotel PMS CRS and RMS systems. TARS (CRS) Opera (PMS) and IDeaS (RMS) experience is an asset.  

  • Extensive knowledge of forecasting and interpreting/analyzing results to plan and conducting budgetary analysis. 

  • Extensive knowledge of sales skills revenue management recruiting supervising training and motivating team. 

  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer requirements and translating these into revenue solutions. 

  • Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action. 

  • Strong organizational skills including quick follow up time management ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment. 

  • Considerable skill in math and algebraic equations. 

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction. 

  • Communicate with employees using a positive and clear speaking voice listen to and understand requests respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information. 

  • Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and/or heavy activity serving as a role model for team and other employees. Interact with other department personnel and venue staff as needed. 

  • Make decisions and take actions based on previous experience and good judgment sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations. 

  • Develop and implement cost saving and profit enhancement measures within your scope of responsibility.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS 

In addition to performance of the essential functions this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company. 

  • Attend mandatory meetings including divisional meetings staff meetings etc. 

  • Ensure leaders and team members attend mandatory meetings and training in a timely and punctual manner. 

  • Ensure leaders meet their responsibilities as it relates to managing their teams meeting deadlines managing payroll needs and any other processes requested by senior leadership. 

  • Meet all established deadlines and tasks. 

  • Participate in community events and ensure corporate social responsibility goals of Mondrian are met. 

  • Utilize traditional software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint) Micros ADP Opera and any departmental specific systems used. 

  • Keep work area clean and organized. 

  • Ensure confidential documents are kept in a secured area. 

  • When disposing confidential documents that contain any personally identifiable information they must be shredded or pulverized. 

  • Complete other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Corporate Leadership. 

  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which inspire team members to meet and exceed standards. 

  • Ensure compliance with Mondrian policies and procedures.
