Job Description

  • Sound understanding of frameworks to mitigate compliance risks.

As the Compliance Manager you will report to the Head of Compliance to play a key role within the Compliance team to maintain and monitor Rests Compliance Management Framework to ensure Rest operates in compliance with its legal and regulatory obligations.

As part of a collaborative team of 6 across Melbourne and Sydney you will have an understanding of Privacy and Financial Crime and have oversight of Rests Incident and Breach management process and will monitor incident and breach dashboards. 

  • Daily monitoring of incidents and breach dashboards and escalation of high rated matters
  • Perform a compliance assessment of new incidents to determine whether a breach has occurred and whether a matter is potentially reportable to a Regulator 
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly incident and breach reports 
  • Assist with development and review of Rests Incident and Breach Policy and Procedures 
  • Provide support guidance and subject matter expertise to the business on the investigation and remediation of significant and reportable breaches and assist in reporting to Management Board and relevant Board committees and preparation of breach correspondence for regulators 
  • Provide education across the Rest business and to material outsource providers on Rests expectations regarding incident and breach management 
  • Compliance Management Framework: assist in the maintenance and monitoring of Rests compliance management framework across the Rest business to facilitate compliance with relevant legislation regulations codes and standards and Rest organisational standards

Qualifications :

  • Degree qualified in Finance Business Law or relevant discipline is preferred
  • Industry certifications in compliance governance or risk management are beneficial
  • Knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements applicable to super trustees including areas such as the SIS Act & Regulations Corporations Act & Regulations APRAs Prudential Standards the Privacy Act and the AML/CTF Act
  • Sound understanding of frameworks designed to mitigate compliance risks
  • Experience in incident management within a financial services environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment requiring attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Experience in writing submissions for Boards and Committees as well as developing and maintaining corporate policies
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate complex messages to a broad range of business stakeholders
