Overview
The Ophthalmologist Consultant Phaco Surgeon at Idrishti Hospital is a highly specialized role that focuses on diagnosing treating and managing a wide range of eye conditions particularly those that require phacoemulsification surgery. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess the vision and eye health of patients.
- Diagnose eye diseases and conditions using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Perform phacoemulsification surgeries and other ocular surgical procedures.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs.
- Monitor patients progress and adjust treatments as necessary.
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care to ensure optimal recovery.
- Educate patients about their eye health and treatment options.
- Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology and surgical techniques.
- Conduct research and participate in clinical trials as needed.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage patient records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Engage in continuous professional development through training and education.
- Attend relevant conferences and workshops to enhance clinical skills.
- Manage complications arising from surgeries and provide appropriate interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MD or equivalent).
- Fellowship in Cataract and Refractive Surgery preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical setting as an Ophthalmologist.
- Proven experience in performing phacoemulsification surgeries.
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Strong knowledge of ocular pharmacology surgery and disease management.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex ophthalmic cases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Proficient in electronic medical records systems.
- A commitment to patient care and ethical medical practices.
- Willingness to engage in community outreach and patient education.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Fluent in local languages and English for effective communication.
